...should I get it through Steam or get the box version? If through Steam, should I bother getting the silver package, even though HL:source doesn't look like much, or just get the bronze package?

Just get it over Steam.

Half-Life Source is a disappointment, but with the Silver edition you still get DOD Source (should be up to par or better than CS Source) and all other games on Steam (including Opposing Force and Condition Zero).

Your first option doesn't make sense, because even if you get the boxed version, it still installs Steam and runs the game from it. Silver is the obvious option. You can either buy 2 games for $50, or 14 games for $60.

It was just a joke so don't think too hard about it, :p

Im taking my sweet time with it. Ravenholm was awesome, love father gregorian.
Right now im at nova prospekt.

In the beginning, when Alyx tells who your old administrator at black mesa was, a shiver just went down my spine. I was litteraly not expecting it.

Oh yeah, Lamar rules

Barney!

Is it just me or has Barney changed since the first game.

In the first game he was sorta coward like.

In this one he seems more confident as well as a little jelous of Gorden Freeman (making the MIT refrence in the begining).

13? What, did you just run straight through the whole game? PC Gamer beat it in 17, they said it could easily have been 20. I am taking my time, I dont want to miss a second of this game (or the G-Man's random appearances).

I'm gonna ask for it for christmas, and if it doesn't work on my computer, then I'll give it away to someone who can handle it.

1.9 Ghz Pentium 4
80 GB hdd
768 MB Ram
Geforce FX 5900 SE
Sound blaster Live! card

Could that handle it?

Sliver package all the way. $20 more for HL: source and DoD: source. If only I could get it not off Steam... :(
DO NOT WANT.
2004-11-21, 5:29 PM #18
actually it's $5 more... retail is $55... whatever the price was last week was just the first week sale price

My specs are about the same as yours and it runs fine on my system with everything set on high with no anti-alias and at 800x600. However, my FPS is unsteady (goes from 30 to 90). My system is the following:

1.8 Ghz AMD Athlon XP 2500+
80 GB HDD
768 MB Ram
Geforce FX 5600 XT
Sound Blaster Live! Card
