This is a serious matter:

A while back I saw in a thread some dude said that they shouldn't give out condoms at schools. I thought he was joking, and so there's this guy at my school, who was in Texas for 1 year, and he said they actually did that! I was like: WHAT?!!!!!!!!!!! I had to leave my native country and I thought things were actually better here and I find this out! Noooooooooooo! So I want to know if he was lying, cause I still doubt, and what is your opinion on this?

Personally I think they should, education on such things is very important, but part of learning is doing things and making mistakes. Kids might make the mistake of 'young' sex early, but at least giving them access to protection limits that mistake to something a little less scary than STI's and/or pregnancy.

They give out condoms in schools to promote safe sex. Because they can't stop teens from screwing like rabbits, so why not screwing like PROTECTED rabbits.

at some health departments you can go and ask for some, and they'll give them to you , pretty much no questions asked (at least here anyway)

Oh, at our uni the 'emergency' condoms (they're in wee paper bags at strategic points in the accomodation blocks) are just in plain red packets, and are nasty nasty nasty.

Yeah here in Québec you can go into almost any CLSC and do the same.

My psychotically conservative state taught us that condoms always break, if you ever have sex before marriage you WILL get an STD since everybody else has them, and even if you use a condom any STD can go right through it. They also said girls will get pregnant their first time.

You guys have to ask for them? That's stupid. Here they have a basket which you can just go in, take a bag, and fill er up with however many you want.. I usually go in and get 50 at a time, fill the bag right up. And yes, Condoms suck.

My friend was talking to a british guy who recently came to our school, and he was /extremely/ dissapointed that they don't give out free condoms here in American high schools. So he apparently brought his 'stash'.

But proceeded to assure my female friend several times that he's never had sex.
