I just upgraded from standard Road Runner cable to their "Gamer Package" that I had heard about from friends at work. Effective speed increase: literally double. The max I could ever get from any website was 350 KB/s, and now it's going at 700+ KB/s. I havn't tried gaming just yet, but upstream bandwidth was also increased I believe from 128 kbps to 512 kbps, so that should help my ping a lot. :D

I'm so happy. :D :D
<Lyme> I got Fight Club for 6.98 at walmart.

(on Campus )T1 with speeds up to 10mbs. Speeds over 1mbs + Direct Connect = Fun.

At home I have regular old cable. I'll see 1mbs once in a while.. Usually around 300 kbs.

Don't be surprised if your higher bandwidth doesn't make games perform any differently. Not really any games need that much up and down. BF:V *might* be able to take advantage of it, but not much else. And the bandwidth definitely won't change communication times between you and the server.

While we're flexing connecton penis sizes, 36 Mb/s down, 10 Mb/s up.

Games don't use that much bandwidth... Sure he'll see huge differences in his downloads, but games don't put out that much. BF games maybe, and maybe some MMORPGs in large, crowded areas (which is more of a down issue really), but other than that, nope.

You'd be surprised. I saw a difference in it between CS--went from an average 60-70 ping to a 20-50 ping. BF definitely saw improvement, UT2kx did, etc

I've got several friends who's on 100/100 Mbps and 10/10 Mbps broadband, while I'm stuck on 512kbps ADSL.

I'm trying to convince my parents to upgrade to 10/1 Mbps ADSL but no luck so far :(
