I want to get my BCIS teacher terminated
2004-11-22, 2:16 PM #1
I am sick and tired of my BCIS teacher up at college. The woman is a lousy instructor, and has some serious control issues.

When we go over stuff, she will literally spend like 45 minutes to an hour showing us how to use something (like Microsoft Access) and do so much stuff then say "Ok I want you to do it now" and expects us to just magically do what she spent the last hour doing, without taking questions. If we raise our hand she will say rudely "I wont stop to help the individual, because I have to show everyone". When we do it though it takes us 10 minutes. Whats the other 50 minutes? Her blabbering on about crap that, while related to the program, serves no purpose to the project at hand. She will also freeze and suspend our computers so we can not try to follow along. So for an hour its her talking.

Next, we designed a chart and was the "ugly chart" and whoever made the ugliest chart wins. Well I made a pretty weird looking chart, and she insults me because one of the things on my chart is George Bush and the monkey faces. She insults me to my face about putting it on there and thinks its inappropriate. Another student put a picture of a woman with herpes ON HER MOUTH on the chart and the teacher just laughed and didn't think that was disgusting.

Then we take a test 2 weeks ago. I used the standard 882 scantron required for tests. When I was turning it in, I specifically said to her "Do I need to write on the test booklet" and she said no, not unless I wanted to see any questions I might have missed. We get the tests back, and I got a 38 out of 100. So, how did I get so low?

A.) Apparently I was supposed to write my name on the test. That's 10 points off.

B.) I had to write the test number on the test. Minus 10 more points.

C.) I was supposed to PUT MY TEST IN ALPHABETICAL ORDER WHEN I TURNED IT IN. So if my last name was Smith, look through all the tests until I find the proper place and turn that in.

So, from a 68 (which isn't good) to a 38. After she told me I didn't have to write on the test.

Finally, and this is what really pisses me off, I swear I wanted to grab a chair and just smash her head in for this, we took a test today. This time she actually WROTE THE INSTRUCTIONS on the test, including to write down WHAT COLOR BOOK we had. All of us had a damn blue book for God's sake. She spent over 45 minutes blabbering about the test and Access before handing the test out. By the time we got it, we had 40 or so minutes left to do a 50 question test. I get to question 45 and suddenly it goes from multiple choice to fill in the blank. She says we have 5 mintues left, and at the end she will say pencils down and we have to turn it in. The 5 minutes chimes and I am turning in my test. She says to be sure its all filled out correct, and a girl asks for the section number. The teacher then snaps "God you've been in here this long and you don't know the section number?" Jesus Christ, I can barely remember my instructor's names, and I am supposed to memorize a 5 digit class? What, is putting down BCIS Monday/Wednesday 12:30-1:50 not good enough? So I go and find the section number and write it down. She then snaps and goes "WHEN I SAY PENCILS DOWN I MEAN IT! NOT FIVE MINUTES AFTER CLASS IS OUT!" and points to the clock. Not 90 seconds have passed.

So I am going to write 3 letters, to the dean of students, dean of instruction and the president of the campus about this woman. Evaluations have already passed, and so have drop dates, so I am stuck with a schitzophrenic ***** with bad PMS.
I can't think of anything to put here right now.

If there is no way you can pass the class(or if it gets to that point), you might as well start messing with her head and see how pissed off you can make her without blatantly breaking any campus rules. I don't know how exactly, but it's just a suggestion.

Just looking at the silver lining of a very dark cloud.

The problem is I don't know what my grade is in there. The teachers have the tendency to withhold that information until the day of the final.

Blow up her car. If she doesn't get the hint, burn down her house. If she still can't figure it out, kill her family.

Seriously, dont do that, at least not until you've ran over her cat.

Yea, you've done the best thing you can with the letters... unless you can find some dirt on her to blackmail with.

At best, they will allow you to have the class dropped, and you'll be down the credits from the class.

That does suck though.

The thing is, I have to pass the class in order to graduate, its a required course for my degree. I don't want to drop it, just pass it, even with a C.

Is a 68 passing for you? I can see if they would give you the points for that bullcrap stuff, but I highely doubt they'll give you anything for just bombing a difficult test.

No, 68 isnt passing, and no a teacher isnt going to give points for the hell of it. I ended up making a 38 on the test. I'd rather of made a 68 though.

Sorry to hear that.

To keep this from happening again, look up teachers you plan on taking at ratemyprofessors.com before you enroll in a class. I wish I knew about that my first semester, b/c I wound up with lots of s***ty teachers.

The thing is though is that the campus won't tell us WHO we have alot of times until we have the class. I walked into 2 or my 3 classes not knowing who I was going to get.

My HRM teacher is Robert Kennedy.

And he is around the right age too.

HOLY CRAP! She's already on there! Someone already wrote about how lousy she is!

are you in uni, or still in HS?

In Uni, you get to choose your teacher. There are classes in my catalog, with the instructor listed as "Staff". Avoid those classes like the plague, b/c you don't know who you're getting.

At my uni, there is even a teacher named Gordon freeman. I guess that job with the G-man didn't work out. :p

Well, sadly, my schedule is very tight and so I have to take what I can handle. I'm at a county college so things can be more difficult as a result. I have had some awesome teachers though come from Staff. I've also added a few reviews to that site for my own teachers.

You go son, and put at the bottom of your letters "GHORG on the internet even said he wanted to kill this woman. Unless she was hot."
