Relationship help from the guys perspective?
2004-04-11, 4:45 PM #1
Ok, I broke up with my boyfriend of 2 and a half years. No, I’ll be honest, he broke up with me. But before we broke up he promised that we would go to the prom together. He has never really wanted to go, but because of our friendship, he says the offer is still good.

But having just have been broken up with, by him, him, I don’t want to go to the prom and wreck my hole night with him. Unfortunately I don’t have anyone else to go with (my guy friends don’t want to go either, ‘I don’t have a GF’, ‘it’s a waist of money’). But I have to make up my mind soon because the prom is in like 3 weeks.

So, should I make the boy suffer, or should I go alone hoping to hook up with someone there?

Just don't go. I never went, and I saved the money while hearing my friends gripe about how much it sucked.

My friends were trying to force me to go to prom, when I know it'll be a waste of time. They did it everyday for almost two months, but since then they've given up. I'd consider going if they didn't play crappy music the whole night.

I'll go to the prom with you!

Or you could just not go. I didn't go to my high school prom.

Not many people go to prom alone (that I know of), so your chances of hooking up with someone are slim. I say make him suffer. (He's paying, right?)

We didnt have a 'prom' per-se, but we did have an end of year 12 ball with speeches and everything. It was an absolute blast, truely memorable. So I say go [http://forums.massassi.net/html/tongue.gif]

As for who you should take, well, who would you be happier with, your ex or someone else? If you could go to the prom with anyone in your year, who would it be?

This is all alien to me, since my school doesn't even have a prom! But I think I can safely say that you should at least try and resolve the issue. Who knows, maybe the prom will get you guys back together again.

Haha, you actually came here to ask for advice? Go to prom. You will regret it later, because if you are like many other people, it is the one thing you look forward to in high school. Go have a good time, you probably wont regret it.

Go with your friends. I couldn't go to my senuior prom b/c I was very sick that night. Fortunately, my highschool let juniors go to the prom as well, so since I went the year before, so I didn't miss out completely.

I went junior and now i'm going senior year, and i never go with anyone. I just drink alot of punch, because the school has to pay something like $50 for a gallon of the stuff. Last year I drank well over $67 worth of punch, so that makes me happy. Or I go insane and ruin other people's nights.

As far as I'm concerned, the whole thing is a sham, and i just try to have fun, and screw any kind of formalities.

You could always hire an escort, get to prom, and then puke on everyone!
I kid I kid, go go Korn video. Seriously, if you like dancing and all that sort of stuff, I say go, even with by yourself. i'm sure other people are going stag too. You only have senior prom once you know.

Why when someone has one of these problems they dont ask for my help.

Dear girl its simple.

1) search internet for picture of guy of your dreams (sorry I have no online scanned pictures)

2) Print said picture

3) Coat said paper in fish paste, if fish paste is not available reach into the freezer and put the picture in the box of left over fish sticks for about an hour

4) Take the picture with you to the prom, when people ask you why you are alone. Show them the picture and they will no longer ask

Simple solution.

You HAVE to go to the prom. It's totally worth it, even if it's with your friends or by yourself. You'll have fun in the end.. It's a big night, you might not see a lot of these people for a long time, maybe even the rest of your life.. go have fun with them one last time [http://forums.massassi.net/html/smile.gif]

don't go.
with the eception of threads like this, it will never be rememberd.

prom is a wate of money, time and patience.

if you want to hang out with friends, go down to local 24 hour food place and have fun.
prom is not important. anyone who says so is just trying to justify the money and time they wasted.

Notice the trend here?

"I thought prom was great, I had a blast" -most everyone who went to prom.

"Don't go to prom, it's a waste of time and money, I'm sure glad I didn't go" -most everyone who didn't go to prom.

I see a definite pattern here, with the small exception of a few individuals on either side.
