My turn for a Half-Life 2 Thread (Please explain something to me..spoilers)

I was going through all the levels in HL2 again, trying to find a good spot to take screenshots, when I noticed The G-man in Chapter 3 (I think)...I decided to follow the G-man, but when I arrived he wasn't there, but there were headcrab zombies there...also another time I saw him on a TV, and when I looked back he was gone, same thing with a camera..and various other locations. My question is, by the end of Half-Life 2 do they explain the g-man a bit more? (If so, don't tell me what they explain, I just want to know IF they do explain.) I never completley beat HL1, and I really don't feel like playing it, so if someone could fill me in it would be great considering I'm on chapter 8 in Half-Life 2. I am starting to think that The G-Man is a figment of Gordons imagination...Maybe from all those scientific experiments something got fried in his head and he kind of went crazy, I dunno...but the more I play the less I seem to think the G-man is real. Could he be Gordon Freeman in the future? Could he be a figment of Freemans imagination? Could he be an alien? (That might explain his stutter.)...
Think while it's still legal.

they still dont explain him, but i like it that way. he could technically be any one of those explainations, but i think theres less of a chance of the figment of imagination, which you'll prolly think, too, when you beat it. he is special though. im guessing from the future or advanced like an alien or robot because of the things he can do.

it's probably something much different than anything any of us are thinking. i do think, that if he is gordon from the future, that they made gordon be mute for now to hide his studder.

We don't find out who he is... in fact the ending just poses way more questions as to what the G-man is. Hl2 leaves you so confused you go back playing HL1 for answers and whats really shocking is you actually find some (if you look hard enough). Its just more clues that will hopefully be wrapped up in HL3 (hope to god they keep it a trilogy).
Time is but a window
Death is but a doorway
He'll be back

That sounds like a plausable theory.

The GMan can't be a figment of Gordon's imagination (letting alone HL2's ending); how else did Gordon get from Xen to City 17 15 years later without aging a day?

The ending does explain something about the G-Man, though not as much as I presume you'd want.
