Is it possible to create curved surfaces in wings3d?

By curved, I mean true curves, not mere polygons that look round. I can already take polygons and smooth the hell out of thwem to create the illusion of curves, but when I render in bryce, I can still see the golf-ball effect if i use highly reflective textures.

This is usually no problem if i'm building something that is supposed to be angular and mechanical-looking (like mechs), but it's a major pain when I'm trying to build organic-looking objects, and its been the one thing thats been holding me back friom making good organic-like models so far.

Please Advise.

Old aunts used to come up to me at weddings, poking me in the ribs and cackling, telling me, "You're next." They stopped after I started doing the same thing to them at funerals.

more then likely wrong forums here pal.

but if you are looking for curves, is there not a subdivde option? that should smooth out all the rough edges and make them more curved.

Many people model things how they want them in low poly and then subdivide the model, this make the low-poly version more rounded and curved...at least thats how I did some of mine...

I think your problem lies in using bryce. I don't know much about either piece of software, but bryce isn't used for that kind of stuff very often. Does bryce have a meshsmoth option? If so, then export the low-poly model from wings3d and import it into Bryce.

If not, you're probably better off using the metaballs in bryce for building stuff.

I know for a fact that Bryce can smooth objects. There should be an option somewhere, I just can't remember where it is... meh.

Yeah, you just need to smooth it. [http://forums.massassi.net/html/biggrin.gif]
