Wow. While interesting, that was pretty scary stuff. Reminds me a lot of 1984 and that whole genre of Science Fiction. The shocking thing is, it's probably not too far away from reality. The future this website proposes by 2014 seems to me to be at the least feasible, at the most probable.

I got bored after about 30 seconds of that stupid static animation and closed the window.

When will web designers learn that flash is NOT a good tool to use to build web pages?
And when the moment is right, I'm gonna fly a kite.

Because it IS a good tool for web pages.
Think while it's still legal.

is not. it's stupid, bloated, and slow.

Html and its variants are much more efficient.

SSame here. I can't imagine any huge conspiracies happening over the next 10 years. Conspiracy theorists need to set bigger time frame to make their ideas plausible.

It's not a conspiracy theory, though. It's a story of hugely successful capitalism, with no malicious intent--just a desire to increase revenue. That's what makes it so creepy. :p

The animation was the entire website.. The "refluffing quantum pancakes" or whatever it said was the loading screen for the animation.

Watch it, that's the entire site (the animation), so you don't need to go tromping though a bunch of crappily designed flash menus.

I found it interesting. Reminded me of a mix between William Gibson's Neuromancer, Philip K. Dick, and 1984.

sounds like a big steaming load to me. of course that's exactly what it is.

it would take a lot longer than 10 years to come close to putting printed media out of business. the NEXT generation would probably be the first to do it, too many people of even our generation rely very heavily on it and would be very unwilling to change that. especially for a a system edited almost completely by amateurs. sure, it mentions professionals selling their services, but the ratio of professionals to idiots is hugely in favor of the idiots. i don't want to go reading a random person's blog for news.

yes, i know i'm simplifying it but that's ok as none of it is real anyway.
