...arg, I just made one stupid mistake ever. I just ordered World of Warcraft and Starcraft (which I got for free because of thanksgiving offer, teehee) at Gamestop's website. The problem is that I mistyped my home address in the shipping part and now I'm afraid they might send my package to a non-existant house! I sent customer service an email so hopefully they'll correct it before its too late!

To make some kind of discussion out of this, ever done something of this nature?

Similar. I once ordered tickets for a concert from Ticketmaster to have them e-mailed to me. Well, turns out that my e-mail service was experiencing problems due to the Blaster virus, and it was the day of the concert, so I had to call and get them e-mailed to another address. Everything turned out well in the end though. I hope you can say the same.

Similar, too. My friend had pre-ordered LotR several months before it got into the stores, think that he would get it before the "huge rush" and all of our groups of friends. Turns out, the DVD finally arrived at his door more then three weeks afterit was released in the stores, and by that time, we had all simply went to Costco, bought it for much less than he paid for it, brought it home, and watched it a couple times.

Yeah. I have also mistyped the street address. Luckily, I also noticed it right after I did it, and an email corrected the whole ordeal just fine.

Edit: Ah, but this seems like a perfect place to tell my experiences with Micro$oft from some years back. When I still had nothing but an old laptop with a 3,5" drive (bought in '95), I had MS Office 97 on disks for it. Something like 38 disks in total. When I bought a new computer, I wanted to get the software on CD, and so I contacted MS.

Now, the 1st funny thing: This happened when Euro was an account currency for big companies but it was still not a real, concrete money. They told me the CD costs more than 100 Finnish Marks - nowadays it's less than 20 euros. When the packet arrived, they had printed the Euro figure (<20), but since euro wasn't yet a legit money in use, it was marked as Marks. So, I paid one sixth of what I was supposed to pay.

When I opened the packet, the CD inside wasn't Office 97 Finnish version but Office 97 English version... I contacted MS, and they apologized. I needed to send the CD to Germany (it has come from Ireland), and they sent me another one. It was Office 2000 Service Pack CD. I contacted MS again, and they were very apologetic indeed. The third CD they sent with some really fast courier service, like big companies use when sending stuff to each other, and I got finally the right CD.

All in all, I thought this was all just really hilarious, and I wasn't even annoyed at all :)

I work with this kinda stuff at work occasionally. The most important things (in Australia anways) are:

- Post code
- Surname
- Suburb

If those 3 are correct then 2/3 times it will get through to you, even if the street / number are completely wrong. With 2 of those 3 you still have a pretty good chance.

If it's just a little typo, you have nothing to worry about.

Yeah, when I had to order my class ring, I put my address, but I put my friend's phone number (he lives in PA, I live in VA), including his area code.
Fortunately, it didn't seem to cause any problems.
May the mass times acceleration be with you.

When Mechwarrior "leaves" he means "maybe for a few days...or something"

Ditto. My computer stuff got here FAST. Like, literally, 3 days after I ordered it. Of course, I rarely order anything online, so...
