Hey...well this is my topic....Im here asking who bought a ds and hasnt had problems with it yet? I bought 4 things...
DS System
Metroid Prime: Hunters: First Hunt
Super Mario 64 DS
Madden 2005

I have 1 dead pixel after 5 minutes of play....they promise to give you a new DS if there are problems, but its 1 pixel and I have a 2 year warranty. Who here votes I send in for another DS?

If a pixel dies so suddenly, it's quite possible that the whole screen is dodgy. I suggest that you send it back.

I don't know what's the situation nowadays but some years back you had to have something like three dead pixels until they took any action... Well, considering laptop computers, that is...

I learnt this when I had some other troubles with my laptop (years ago when it was still quite new), and I had taken it back to the shop for repairs (under warranty). The screen had a dead pixel, and I just asked them if they would replace it at the same time they were making those other repairs. They asked if it had more than three dead pixels, because that's the limit. I just answered that sure, it has many dead pixels, in one group, and it's very annoying. I guess they never checked it for themselves but just believed me, and changed it.

So, if it's annoying you, I say go ahead and try to get a new one.

On one hand, I really want one, and I like the games they'll have for it. On the other hand, I'm lacking in my own money, and I already have a huge list of video game stuff lined up for X-mas. That, and I've found that hardly anyone I know owns any sort of Gameboy... the pattern will most likely carry over into the DS :(

/me so wants to play multiplayer Mario 64 too :(

Mario 64 is way different...be warned
you pick up caps of mario, luigi and wario, and u got to get at least 8 stars to be mario full time. Yoshi is really slow but fun to play as. It still has the drawing function :) but anyway its good overall.

I played some Mario 64 on my friends DS. I was sold instantly. The controls are WAY better than I expected!

Send it back - if you wait and it still keeps dying, theyll ask why you didnt send it back in the first place and fart about for ages.

Hopefully will start testing DS games at work after christmas. Should be fun/

My opinion... I have an N64 that I paid 200 bucks for... I'm not doing that again for the smaller version. New games or no new games.

I thought DS ment downsyndrome, also, if u put an "I" in between the A and D... the title would read..

wrong with u, the GBA is a whole lot better, it has some 3d graphics, and a recent game that came out look like it had GC graphics. better color, 2 more buttons, the ability to connect to 4 players, and now wirelessly.

Though if u dont have it, just get a DS.

The problem with the Metroid game is that it isn't like a typical Metroid game with exploration. I heard it's like Unreal Tournament, a simple death match game.

yup it is, single player is a training mode...which sucks. Idk if theres anything more then training...I suck at it so it might take a while, ill update this topic if I get farther.

Nintendo is just going to say that you bought a system with two screens.. if its bothering you that a pixel is missing on one of the screens, than look at the other screen...

dude, ur an idiot. they are two screens for a reason one has the game view "the top screen" and touch screen is the map. u cannot very easily use the map to play.

ill tell u... its worth getting...the games are on a long wait though. So I would wait till at least january. Pictochat works well and etc....I was most facinated by the Launch Games. They have scheduled a TV Tuner and etc. It should be something good. I say go for it. My grand total with two games (mario ds 30 bucks, and madden DS 40 bucks) added up to 260 bucks w/ warrenty.

GBA Yes, GC no, anything before GBA doesnt work

The DS can play GBA games, but only the single player portions . . . any multiplayer functions of the GBA games won't work with the DS

They have Metroid 1 and Metroid: Fusion. Metroid 1 even has updated GFX

Super Metroid hasnt even been announced for the Port on DS/GBA. If I hear anything I will let you know, but Ill tell u that all the shopping on ds is gonna be backed up till at least january if u dont buy/ preorder soon.
