Email Program Suggestions?

Ok, here is the dealio. I've been using Outlook Express for quite some time now but because of this weird error that I get when I click a email link in a webpage (which spams my computer with 64 IE windows with "page could not be found"), I'm thinking of switching over to something better that hopefully won't have this glitch. Any suggestions? You guys already converted me to FireFox so I have no reason to doubt this community's suggestions :D

If you are using a new Hotmail account with said Outlook, you're out of luck. MSN doesn't support Outlook unless you pay for Hotmail now.

If you're not check for spyware, adware, virus you know the usual.

I use Opera's mail altough I most often browse with firefox. I think it's the best. I like it's structure that is not folder based but you give your mails keywords. And it's search function is pretty cool. The filters are good too. I couldn't get used to Thunderbird, that is missing a lot of functions. And I can't get used to any programm that uses folders anyway. Way to primitive. I'd be interessted is there is another (free) email programm that works like Opera's M2.

Well, I'm not interested in switch accounts. I just want a program that I could use my current account. I could just use Yahoo!'s web-base email but I want a program that I can use to launch when I click on a "mailto:" link.

To be honest I haven't tried. GMail does offer pop3 now.

Oh, and if you try opera mail (which is a part of opera, so don't search for a seperate programm) read this little site:

(The part about m2)

Thunderbird and gmail.

Thunderbird for all of my pop3 accounts, one gmail account that receives all of my forwarded gmails.

For the most part, I love both the firefox and thunderbird programs. I did have one problem where t-bird was completely unuseable on one system I installed it on, though. It would just lag the computer so much that I had to restart it. Even fresh installs wouldn't fix it. Never figured out why, but it wasn't my comp so I don't care. Overall, both great programs.
