Help me pick a WoW class! (also, official Massassi server)

I can't decide! For those of you who have been playing the beta, please help me decide on a WoW class. All I've decided on so far is that I want to play alliance. Race will be selected based on what best suits that class I choose. I want to pick something I won't regret later on. I played a dragoon in FFXI and I was really disappointed at how useless I was in parties compared to other classes, so I want to be useful in groups in WoW.
All I know for sure, judging from other MMORPGs, is that a group requires a tank, and a healer.

The warrior is obviously the tank in this game, but I've read on forums that warrior is really gimped right now and boring to play. The secondary tank, paladin, is also gimped, and I don't really want to play a hybrid class anyway. So tank is out, I guess, unless you guys tell me otherwise.

The priest is obviously the healer, but I find healing boring. At least the FFXI white mage had good utilitarian spells like teleport, sneak, and invis, but it looks like the priest just has crappy hate-shedding spells, crappy damage-dealing spells, and a whole lot of healing/protection spells. I foresee a priest ignoring the crappy spells in favor of saving MP for healing, so basically they'd just be healing over and over again. *Yawn*, so healer is out.

I played both rogue and hunter in the beta and had a lot of fun playing both. However, while they were a lot of fun, so was dragoon, so I need to know whether these two classes are actually good and useful in a group before I spend time leveling one of these. Right now I'm leaning toward rogue, because of the soloing potential: they have a mobility ability (speed), they can stealth undetected, and they can pick locks. Seems like this and mage are the only classes that would allow you to take on a quest in a particularly difficult dungeon by yourself by stealthing your way through. However, if rogue is worthless in a party, it doesn't matter.

Shaman is out because I want to play alliance... 'nuff said.

Mage seems awesome, but they are definitely overpowered right now, so it's likely that they'll be gimped fairly soon. Also, the servers are way over-populated with mages, and I don't really want to be what everyone else is.

Druid, like paladin, is a hybrid class, so they have a variety of abilities, but they don't seem like they're good at anything. And like I said, I'd prefer to specialize in one area.

One of my friends played a warlock in the beta. He said it was a lot of fun, but it doesn't really look appealing to me, so I won't choose it unless someone here makes a strong case for it.

So that's my evaluation on the classes, based on very limited data. Someone who is more informed please help me out!

Now as for server, have we picked an official massassi server yet? I've already decided on Elune, because I joined a guild that was started by Ian McConville and his friends over at Mac Hall. If a server hasn't yet been decided on, I think it'd be cool if Massassians joined me over on Elune ;)
Sell crazy someplace else, we're all stocked up here.

I personally liked being a Paladin during the beta, but if Paladin's have been handicapped like you said, well, then I don't know...

I played all the characters *alliance and horde*, the best by far is NightElf Druids. They rock so damn hard. Once I got to the NightElves I was hooked. The druid just makes it rock even more hard. For Horde Undead rocks the hardest.

The Druids specialize in PWNING!!
Think while it's still legal.

Hmm... ok, I've been looking at the druid more closely. Is prowl the same as the rogue's sneak ability? Does travel form last until you cancel it? If you can elaborate on "PWNING", it'd be greatly appreciated :P

Lol druid.

I was going to vote shaman, but... as you said that's out. So... voted rogue. They definitely aren't worthless in a party. They're actually quite desired.

Well the druids start off with a really crappy staff...(three sticks taped together...seriously) and you bash the crap out of lower level stuff until your about level 3, then you get a sexy better staff, but you can also cast spells like healing yourself, fireballing the crap out of the enemy etc... Plus in higher levels you can transform into animals. The druid is just all around awesome in melee, ranged, and..animal...turning..into...thing.

Well, I haven't played the game long enough to recommend a certain class just yet. The only classes I played as are paladin, hunter, and druid. So far the hunter was a fun class because you get to have a combat pet. With a pet to keep your foe and bay while you pumps out it makes soloing a bit more fun since you don't have to have a party to do what you and your pet can do alone.

I liked the Druid and the Paladin, mostly because they have heal spells they can use in combat, so useful.

My favorite times in the beta were when I was in a party. :D

That being said, parties always need more priests.

Yeah, I like playing in parties as well. I was just saying that for those that like to go solo, the hunter is a good class for that because of the pet. Warlocks also get pets too so that could be a good solo class as well. When it comes to paladins and priests (and any other class with spells), those are best for parties. When I was a paladin, I always was in a party because most of my spells were kind of useless without one.

I have an Undead Warrior and I like him. *shrug* From what I've heard, shamans are really good, and I've seen alot of Tauren shamans. Doesn't make sense to me, maybe I'll ask one. Druid is the alliance version of shaman and vice versa. I figure if I ever play alliance I'll either play a druid or paladin.

Do they allow you to move characters from server to server? Because I really dont feel like starting a new character to get into the server with all the other Massassians :\
