I don't know about any of you all...

But I'm very quickly growing to HATE christmas, and pretty much everything associated with it.

I hate receiving gifts...
I hate the sneaking around to buy gifts for other people...
I hate the other people sneaking around to buy gifts...
I hate the other people talking about gifts for me behind my back...
I hate talking about gifts to get other people behind their back...

It's really starting to piss me off.

Sorry, I just needed to vent a bit, I'm not in the best mood right now.

Heck, it's like it trumps other religions' celebrations... No word of a lie, I saw a mosque with christmas lights on it once.

Christmas' concept is noble, but our current implementation both sucks and blows...

I like giving gifts. There's nothing quite like watching people's reactions when they get something they can really like, yet had no idea they would be getting something like that.

And of course I also like the special Christmas food. Why, I think I like many things about Christmas. Even getting out to get a Christmas tree is quite pleasant. -Monoxide- is right.

I like Chirstmas time. Not so much for the gift recieving, but the family atmosphere. Persoanlly, I like goiving gifts as well.

Not to mention the lumination. Sometimes it's cool to see a really decorated house as you drive down a road.

It's such a puzzle. I don't know what to get people. I wish they would just accept money. Goddamn. But when I try to give them money, I'm "thoughtless". Stupid Christmas. It can burn in hell.

Of course, that begs the question, "Well Freelancer, if everyone gave each other money, what's the point? You'd give someone 35 bucks, and they'd give you 35 bucks too." Well, isn't that all it is anyway? Only it's worse; Someone takes 35 bucks and uses it to get me something that may or may not be worth it to me. It's like sticking money in a bottle and hoping it returns in a few years.

You know what I hate about Christmas?

The fact that stores were selling Christmas decorations in late October.
The Christmas themed commercials on TV that start in mid November.
The people who put up EVERY LAST Christmas outdoor Christmas decoration they own, one full WEEK before Thanksgiving. (There's a house up the street from me like that. The lights have been lit ALL week. They even have an inflatable SNOWMAN.)

I don't mind ANY of the above, EXCEPT when people go about doing it THAT freaking early. They couldn't at least wait until the first week of December? They couldn't wait until AFTER Thanksgiving?

Guess not.
