Might be going to a Computer Festival today... I can probably spend ~200$ Canadian.

Current rig:
XP2500+
Radeon 9600 PRO
512 PC3200
160 Gig hard drive
CD writer/rewriter

I'm thinking I'll probably spend ~100$ on memory, then pick up a game (usually there's a booth with 49.99 computer new releases and 59.99 PS2 new releases), but I'm also considering a DVD writer. Is that worth it? Or should I upgrade something else?

Decisions, decisions! I call on you Massassi, for advice on COMPUSALE.

lol buy me a video card so i can play hl2 lol

Seriously, you're pretty set. My advice: See if you can find a sweet deal on a multi-button mouse or a nice logitech keyboard.

Once I get my pay checks from my job, I'm upgrading my processor and motherboard. I'm making the jump to and Athlon 64. Can't wait.

I will be spending around 1500 bucks on a new system soon. Gotta make HL2 look pretty . . .

DVD BURNERS ROCK YOUR SOCKS.

Seriously, I've used mine a lot. And it rules. *hugs it*

I'd suggest upgrading your card, but not much you can upgrade to for 200 canadian. A gig of PC3200 would be your best bet...then sell the old mem to me for cheap :)

Yeah, I'd buy a new card, but the next real jump is a 9800PRO or 6600GT, and those are going to be ~300$ CAD. I'm thinking maybe a DVD-burner then a PS2 mod-chip. *cackles*

I'd like a DVD burner, but the only reason I'd have it would be for major backups and copying certain items from the library. Neither of which I do often enough to warrent the purchase. I guess I'll stay with my DVD Rom and good ole CD-Rs for the meantime.
