Not to start a debate, but Nintendo and Sega should switch places. Nintendo should make games, Sega should make game systems. Dreamcast was way ahead of it's time. OMG LIEK NINTENDO HAS ALL TEH KIDDY GAMEZ. Eternal Darkness? Resident Evil? The other 80% of the games that are rated T or M. Besides all of Nintendos games, rated E or othersiwe are usually pretty fun! I'm never going to leave nintendo. I refuse to give in to Sony, and XBox is just sad.

Well, I have yet to see Nintendo develop a game that DID suck so whatever philosophy they have at making games seems to be working. Besides, technology doesn't make a game - there is more to a game than that.

That right there is why I hate nintendo, classic play mechanics are fine, but dont just stop caring about story, appearence, and sound... Most people dont even pay much attention to the effectiveness of dynamic sound in a game, anyone with a 5.1 speaker set would tell you, any game is awsome with good surround. I love playing Halo, FarCry, Splinter Cell... ect... all in surround, EAX is pretty sweet too but buggy in some games.

These days i really look at graphical appeal, granted it doesnt make the game great, it certainly makes it more enjoyable.

As for the story, only racing games and simulations(excluding oldies like galaga or pacman) are worth anything without a story... if theres no story, theres no game.

Completed MGS once... fairly good game considering I don't really like stealth-em-ups.

Still don't care about story in games, thats what I read books and watch films for.

Personally, I currently don't like messing arround with FF I all that much, presuming they're keeping it in 2D (as using the GBA platform would suggest). What I'd really like to see from SquareEnix is a 3D-remake of FF VI, that would essentially have the same detail level both in and out of the FMV sequences. I would accept alterations of the game for that, as long as the story (and dialogue) was kept the same, the characters and items were virtually identical (only in 3D, of course) and the enemies and bosses were virtually the same (except a few tweaks to ballance it out, like making the original AtmaWeapon boss actually difficult...), and make it availible for all platforms... I'd gladly pay a whopping $60 (or more!) for that...

FF VI is one of the games I'd like to see a new port for the most (I believe it's second only to HeXen...)

and if that is what is getting you angrythen you'd get really annoyed that nintendo plans to no longer put the digital video jack into the systems... it's starting with japanese systems but will eventually end up being done with systems everywhere... so if you plan to ever use 480p with your gamecube get one now... and have fun trying to find the component video cable
