I was playing around in JK again, and I went to type in the Fly mode cheat code. Now most of the Jedi Knight cheat codes make a bit of sense, or at least you can figure out where they come from, except for eriamjh... Then it occurred to me. BRAZIL!

Let me quote from the script:

With his finger HELPMANN is tracing letters in the

HELPMANN
It's as though he's there speaking to
me - "'ere I am, J.H.!" The ghost in
the machine.

We see that HELPMANN has traced the letters EREIAMJH in
the powder.


EREIAMJH turns out to be the code for the elevator at the end of the movie, but I am wondering if anyone knows if this is also the source of the JK flymode code? If not, does anyone know anything about the source of eriamjh?

Nifty, I always wondered about that too. Now what does "racoonking" mean?

eriamjh always reminded me of the name Jeremiah, minus the extra e.

Actually, the EREIAMJH from Brazil comes about as an anagram of the name of the main character’s father, who is Jeremiah, so you are quite correct there... :D

"Jeremiah" made me think of the Bible, which made me think of angels, which made me think of flying, which reminded me of the code when I forgot it.

Brazil was so boring. I had to watch it in my film class my last year of HS. The eriamjh thing was the only thing that made it worth while, since I made the connection with JK as soon as the old guy said it. It would make more sense though if it were a noclip cheat, since the guy says "the ghost in the machine". Noclip would be more like a ghost... in a game played on a machine.
