Free MMORPG or MMO?...

Does anybody know of any free MMORPG's or MMO's, because I really need better games, again... THX.

www.runescape.com - you might have heard some people dissing it but it's got 3d graphics, magic, ranged combat, you're able to make your own weapons, there's mining, woodcutting, fishing, cook your own food (pizza baby!). I think it's great. It doesn't lag much either unless you've got like a 28k modem

www.eternal-lands.com - If you have a fast internet thing, check this out. They're still finnishing it up. they have fighting, good graphics, some magic, mining, making stuff... The bad thing is you have to beat up on rabbits for a while, then beavers, then snakes, then deer, then dogs or something. It takes a long time to be able to fight anything like a goblin. Plus weapons are uber expensive.

They have this one called "Real Life."

But it's such a god damned chore to play.

yeah, but in real life you can't stab random people with swords and nobody will frown on you for it.

Have you seen it lately? For java, that's pretty damn spiffy. It's in full 3d if you haven't noticed.

"N-No it's not!"

It's really very easy to use opengl or direct3D in java, as long as there isn't too much heavy number-crunching java is very capable of doing good graphics.

Sorry to nit-pick here, but that would be chibi, not anime.

You get what you pay for. The graphics stink, but for Java they’re amazing. I don't even want to think how many lines of code are in that thing. But, aside from the graphics, it's pretty extensive. I don't play it much, but if you have a bad computer, have dial up, or don't have money for monthly fees, and you really, really want a MMRPG. go ahead and play this. I however, will be playing HL2, and Raven Shield. :D

I believe there are some free servers set up. I'm not so sure about it though, I've only heard about it from a friend, I don't play it.

I know of one. Played on it for about 5 minutes...then decided it was too ****ing huge to play on a privy server.

I just played that.

it's awful.

It's a 2D platform thing - with other people! except it's crap, and the other people are useless. you whack snails. so does everyone else. and that's it.

really, if crazy asian things are your 'thing', then do Gunbound. that's not really an MMO, but it's total fun. unlike this thing.

When does a game become a(n) MMOG? If GunBound can be considered one, then so would Diablo II... But where is the line? I've always wondered... I think it might be starting at 33 simultaneous players (32 being the standard maximum for FPS MP games)

Over at Gamehippo they posted NoctisIV up. It's not exactly a MMORPG, more like a massive exploration game. And you don't really get to interact with the other people. The premise of the game is that you're a galactic explorer, as is everyone else, and you get to go to different stars and planets, explore them, and then leave notes about them for the other players.

I played it for a while, and it isn't my thing, but maybe you'd enjoy. Just search for NocticIV.
