Halo 2 Multiplayer

Well I just played halo 2 for 22 hours with 12 players - one of them being Moriar ranked 3rd in the UK for halo 1 and another being our very own - Tony -. Needless to say fun was had by all, sleep was had by none and Red vs Blue is as funny as hell.

Now halo may have its problems but I'm hard pressed to think of a better multiplayer game.

Oh and you can use a PC hub to network x-boxes.

Yeah, when I go to my friends house in Toronto to visit, all we do is play Halo 2 multiplayer. There's usually 4-6 people there minimum every single night, and we do this for about a week straight. I can't really remember another time I've had so much fun in a MP game before either. We play CTF usually against eachother, and guaranteed every game has its hilarious moments (cause we're all close friends) and its tense moments (trying to get your flag back and get the enemy flag at the same time). I love it.

Spend LOTS of money and buy the same thing, only with Xbox logos on it. I love how they rip people off for Cat5 cable to System Link.

I played ALL day with a friend of mine an my brother. Swords + Foundation = FUN. However, normal Slayer with ONE Sword + Foundation = MORE FUNNER. It turns into a game of 'who can keep the sword the longest'. I managed to get the record. Nine kills in a row over a 3 minute period.

Then we played 'Gopher', another gametype I made up. Three people at Beaver Creek. Two are on the same team, and are only allowed to use the Magnums. Those two, are the Gophers. They can only stay under, in, and around the two bases. The third person plays the 'Hunter' and is supposed to try and kill the two Gophers. He has all the weapons at his disposal and can go anywhere. It sounds stupid as hell, but the way we play together, it ends in total chaos and much laughter.

Then there was the various Co-op games, and more normal FFA Slayer matches. Fun day.

I was under the impression that their cable allowed you to system link two systems together without a networking hub. For some reason a regular Cat5 cable won't do that.
yay for not posting much ever

Uhh, it's called a crossover cable...

But we play all of our games connected via the LAN in the building. Mainly since we're all in different rooms...

That was muchos fun. The only problem was my complete ineptitude. :p
Hey, Blue? I'm loving the things you do. From the very first time, the fight you fight for will always be mine.

Halo + Halo 2 LANs. Every weekend, 4 players minimum. CTF. Slayer. Territory. Team Slayer. Sword Play. Sniping.

Just about everything...even vehicle abuse modes...:)

Anybody else read that story about a Chinese guy who died after a twenty hour gaming binge?

He got better.

I'm SO happy that Halo 2 is on Live!! I never got to play Halo multiplayer because all my buddies that play it live out of town. That sort of limits weekend gaming a bit. I found out about playing Halo through gamespy or some such but, well....I'm lazy. I never felt like finding out more than "it's possible".
