I wonder which is worse; that almost all of you have games and hardware as key elements of your wishlists...

OR

...That some of you have a love life listed on your lists.

Oh and a motor-scooter, 115mpg and 80MPH is good enough for me. :D

How come that Athlon XP 2500+ looks so very much out of place on that list? Even if there's little realistic limit to the overclocking capability, I doubt it will surpass the performance of a measly XP 3200+. (and I doubt it can go anywhere near that high) Why not want an Athlon 64 instead? My 64 2800+ has been easily overclocked to arround the equivalent of a 64 3000+, without going into the danger zone.

I've seen watercooled 2500+ pushed to 3.0 ghz and beyond. Unlocked, that is hands down the BEST chip ever. It spanks all others.

A new system with an Athlon 64 3500+, an nForce4 motherboard and a PCI-e GeForce 6800GT. Those last two better be out by Christmas or I'm going to be angry.

Maybe a couple VGames and CD's.

But I'm praying so frigging hard that I will be able to do this behind the wheel thing with the instructor and get my license before Christmas. This is pretty much the only thing I care about at the moment -- I'm not even concerned about the car I'd (might) get; just being able to take myself places without waiting for my parents to be "ready to go" would be the danged greatest gift ever!
May the mass times acceleration be with you.

I'd have to try that with mine, if I had a half decent mobo. Any links?

Oh, and <3 Jim.

My list.

Xbox Games
-Fable
-Morrowind: The Elder Scrolls III
-Ghost Recon

PC Games
-Half-Life 2

DVDs
-Red vs Blue Season One
-Red vs Blue Season Two

CDs
-Halo/Halo 2 Soundtracks
-Hitman: Contracts Soundtrack
-Incubus – A Crow Left of the Murder
-Breaking Benjamin – We Are Not Alone
-Matchbox Twenty – More Than You Think You Are

I also plan to buy an iPod mini for myself. People will get me all of that, but they more than likely won't fork out the money for the iPod, which is why I'll just get it myself. Several hundred dollar gifts are generally not given in my family.

The music industry is a cruel and shallow money trench where thieves and pimps run free, and good men die like dogs. There's also a negative side.

I would like a flat screen, but dont think its going to happen.

I'll get a refrigerator ad a few other things for school. Cool things like bedsheets and new socks.

Moving away in a few weeks, its starting to suck.

But hey I already have HL2 and a 6800 and 2 gb of ram, so I should be set with a fridge. I dont really want anything too much

Are you nuts?! An Athlon XP 2500+ clocks in at a mere 1.833 Ghz; pushing it to 3.0GHz would be a ~64% increase. No Athlon processor runs at 3.0GHz, and I think you'd fry any one you tried that with... Unless you meant clocking it to the equivalent of a 3000+, which would be a mere 20% increase to 2.2 GHz, which should be easily possible with good cooling and power, but that still won't come near the top, particularly those nice new Athlon 64 4000+ and FX-55 chips...

nope.

On second though, some Sennheiser PX-200's would be nice.
2004-11-30, 9:12 AM #65
Don't bother with Sennheisers, get an AKG 240-s. This is easily the best set of headphones I've ever used (within a reasonable price, anyway), and I've used quite a few (I used to work in the audio field, as a mixer). You can pick up a set at Guitar Center for about 60 bucks.

Yeah, AKG rocks, but what's interesting about the PX-200's is the portability. I've scrapped two pairs of headphones because they were too big and would get banged up. I want something that I can use on the subway and commuter train, and can put away securely when I'm not using them. The 240-Studios are way to big for that. :(

I've also worked a summer job as a sound tech, and we swore by Sennheiser, and I was always satisfied with the quality of their products.

Yes, but how many actual clock cycles will the chip go through before being a fried little piece of silicon, with the copper, aluminum, and gold contained within running out in little rivulets?

I'm only getting a new phone to replace my old broken one. It's quite sad to see how much you guys get. Remember when Christmas was about family time? yeh? That's what mine thankfully is still mostly about...

damn you rich people. :(

HP iPAQ rx3715

They haven't released any really GOOD SW toys in forever. They started going downhill in quality after Ep. 1.

One of my goodies came today. I got it early because my mom wanted to double check that they sent the right one.

I'm overclocked 500 MHz, a 33% increase over what I was at, and could easily push another 100-200MHz if I had the right mobo with the right voltage settings.

I'm on air, completely on air, stock fan for CPU, 3 casefans, etc. My CPU isn't even unlocked. I'd say 3.0GHz is easily obtainable with an unlocked 2500+
