It was a good mindless action movie. It could have been better, but it was entertaining. I liked The Rundown better

I loved it...and The Rundown as well. The Rock is becoming a very entertaining actor.

Saw it yesterday. I liked it much better than The Rundown. IMO The Rock's improving. I haven't yet seen Scorpion King, though

The Rundown was absolutely awesome. I'm going to see Walking Tall, but from what I've heard The Rundown is better.

Hm. As unlikely as it is, I can just see "The Rock" doing endless action movies like Steven Seagal.

Unlike Segal, the Rock can act a little bit.

Why does the Rock still call himself the Rock. If he wants to be a serious actor he should change it to his real name.
2004-04-14, 11:27 AM #14
He officially had his name changed to The Rock. more publicity for the WWE.

Uh . . . I don't think so. He owns the rights to the name, but his actual name is Dwayne Johnson.

Dwayne Douglas Johnson (born May 2, 1972), better known as The Rock (the actual name on his SAG card), is a professional wrestler with World Wrestling Entertainment. Johnson has also starred in several major motion pictures, including The Scorpion King and The Rundown. In the past, he wrestled under the names Rocky Maivia, Flex Kavana, and Duane Glasteau.

The Rock stars, along with former Jackass Johnny Knoxville, in the film Walking Tall, from MGM Pictures, as real life war hero-turned-sheriff Chris Vaughn who returns to the town where he grew up and rids it of corruption with his trusty two-by-four. The movie is set to release on April 2, 2004. It is rated PG-13.

Johnson, as of November 20th, 2003, looks like he's currently taking a hiatus from the WWE during his recent career as a actor. It's been announced in multiple entertainment magazines that Johnson has been approached to play the role of Duke Nukem in a live action Duke Nukem movie that's currently in the works. Johnson has expressed interest. He will also star in the big screen adaptation of Cartoon Network's popular character Johnny Bravo.

BTW: I saw that movie down in Miami wit a chick... it was aight, but we missed like the first 30 mins... [http://forums.massassi.net/html/wink.gif]

Hm. Well, I've only seen the scorpion king, but -if- there's a badass looking action movie actor on the rise that can act, well, I can only hope for the best. I'm still waiting for another classic like Die Hard or Lethal Weapon though.

Only good part about the Scorpian King was Kelly Hu, but even she can only go so far. [http://forums.massassi.net/html/frown.gif]

Walking Tall looks good though, heck, the whole preview is better than anything he did in the Scorpian King.
