I'd personally have to vote for Fett. As for his "death" (i follow the EU, but I still can't figure out how the hell he got out of that sarlac!) was a total fluke. Both Solo and Fett had their backs to eachother, and solo stumbed backward with his viroaxe accidentally tripping the firing mechanism on Fett's jetpack, catipulting Fett into the sarlac (not the most glamerous way to go, but what is?)

Though Samus has not yet died (though she came pretty damned close at the beginning of "Metroid Fusion"), you have to remeber that the armour of Boba Fett and Samus Aran are totally different dynamics. Boba's armour is pieces of Mandalorian iron strapped onto a fabric flight suit while Samus' armour is a life-force-enhanced piece of unkown metal made by the Chonzo race.

Bearing that in mind, Boba (considering all of the scrapes he's been through with his bare minimum armour) would still be more skilful than Samus (and most of the time, it really comes down to skill, with some combination of equipment and just plain dumb luck)

If he gets Slave, Samus gets her ship, which can fill up her missles and energy at will, assuming she gets enough time to reload.

But really that's a pointless and stupid request. Think about it. If Samus *doesn't* get all of her toys, then Boba Fett doesn't get his darts, blaster rifle, helmet equipment, rocket pack, etc.

Fully powered form vs. fully powered form. That's the only way to do it.

A couple of other points about Boba Fett...

He can control Slave I (well, could, until he lost it) with the helmet of his armour.

He can see 360 degrees around him.

He has/had a cell in his ship SPECIFICALLY designed for putting Force-users into. Now, if he had that installed, it's implied that he's had occasion to use it before.

His armour is a little more than "bare minimum". I mean, he's just about stripped down and customised everything on the damn thing.


There are plenty of surprises hidden away in both his ship and his armour. And given that he could effectively fight on his own and control his ship remotely at once, that'd make a pretty hefty advantage. But what the hell.

Anywho, I've been a fan of Boba Fett way longer than I have Samus Aran, so I guess I'm voting for the ex-Journeyman.

seconded. Shamu would splash and Fett's armor would short out because of the salt water. Since water itself doesn't conduct electricity, and NaCl is soluble, it would add enough conductivity and blam... Same goes for Samus.

Again: Samus Aran, while equipped with the Gravity Suit, isn't damaged by most lava. The people who are saying that Boba Fett could defeat Samus haven't played a Metroid game. Hell, the people who would say Darth Vader could defeat Samus have never played a Metroid game.

You could argue that Boba Fett is "cooler", but when you're looking at raw power there is no contest. Samus Aran is ridiculously powerful and basically undefeatable (assuming you are even moderately proficient at playing Metroid games).


Edit:
1.) On the lava thing: It takes a ton of energy to melt stone. A lot more than it takes to, say, vaporize water. If Samus isn't unduly affected by swimming through molten rock outside of one area, it means her suit can absorb a lot of power.
Now, we've seen a blaster shot hit snow before (ESB). The fact that it looks like only a "little" amount of the water is instantly vaporized (or, more likely the snow was just tossed up in the air from an explosive force), we can assume pretty conclusively that a blaster bolt carries less energy than a bowl of steaming hot lava.

2.) In all of the games we've seen, the only thing that seems anywhere near effective against Samus is physical attacks, particularly heavy concussions. At the beginning of Metroid Prime Samus gets thrown violently into a bulkhead, which damages some of her suit's components. At the ending of Metroid Fusion, Samus gets bludgeoned for about 1298 damage by the Omega Metroid.

A high power concussion really isn't something that Boba Fett is equipped to deal to Samus.

3.) On the Sarlacc note: Roll into the hole in Morph Ball mode, drop Power Bomb, Screw attack to safety. Fin.

I *have* played (a) Metroid game all the way through. I didn't get a very great sense of power. In fact, I felt confined and limited in my abilities.

Umm...horny teens get off over suits of armour? The only time you see Samus without the power suit is if you play well enough and get the better ending screens. Besides that, when did we ever see Boba walk the walk? It's been a long time since I've seen the original trilogy but I don't remember seeing him actually do much.
