Wheel mouse in JK...

I'm wondering what people have used their scroll wheel for in JK.

I know I can only use my scroll wheel in JK to map a frickin axis, no functions like in Q3. (weapon up/down)

I try not to touch it :o

I used to map it to the X axis and set it super sensitive so that I could turn around instantly in mid-jump. :) Good times.
That painting was a gift, Todd. I'm taking it with me.

I map it to forward/backward. It doesn't go sensative enough to do any good tho. :( We need source code!!!

The only thing I would use it for is changing force powers or weapons, but seeing as it's not an option, nothing

Yeah the mouse well in JK does some pretty crazy things sometimes... best just to avoid it...

Maybe I should spell it out:

Click here to download a program that will remap your Mouse Wheel to keystrokes inside Jedi Knight.

I turn the wheel off and use the wheel button for force grip.

It's not working! :(
I run the program, select some keys, hit OK, then run JK.exe and then I get this dialog
Quote:
JK.EXE - Application Error
The application failed to initialize properly (0xc0000142). Click OK to terminate the application.

I delete dinput.dll and jk is again able to load, but obviously without being able to map the wheel to hotkey functions.

What version of DX do you have? I can't imagine why it would interfere with JK. All the dinput.dll does is intercept and pass on anything that would normally be called to dinput.dll, except for remapping wheel up/down as a keystroke......

DX? As in DirectX?
If so, 8.0 or 8.1
