If you didn't notice, the forum just hit a total of 200,000  posts. It's really been growing fast. Only a couple of months ago it hit 100,000.
2004-11-30, 8:33 PM #2
Probably closer to 750,000 in reality as the old boards were often pruned. Hell, I wouldn't be suprised if there were 1,000,000+ posts over all.
Pissed Off?

Pruning forums is like ripping random pages out of history text books.

There has to be about a million posts pruned from the discussion forums alone by now. :(
2004-12-01, 5:43 AM #15
With the new boards, will we never need to prune again?
2004-12-01, 7:37 AM #16
Were the posts simply removed permanently, or were thye archived? If so, then they should be gotten up... So far, I count 348,290 posts, including this one, at this forum.

...And we still have over 100 million more to go before Massassi rules the Internet!

Well, I don't think that we'll need to prune as often if at all now we've got the spiffy forums.
Hey, Blue? I'm loving the things you do. From the very first time, the fight you fight for will always be mine.

Well, I think it would be the case is that we don't need to prune at all now... Also, we should be ressurecting all the posts that were pruned off if it's still possible. Obi_Kwiet put it best:

Would you enjoy walking around with a 50-pound history book?

Besides, it's not like this stuff will matter in the grand scheme of things...

I can't find the picture of Tink Rivin, because every thread I remember it being posted in was pruned. :(

Well, in this case, Massassi isn't a history textbook; none of us have to carry it arround. However, I do think that it might be important to see that Massassi has the largest post count out there. There really isn't a problem with having thousands of threads archived; it creates no more work for the admin and moderators of a board.

Yes, I was suprised about that myself. I went ahead and said that anyway, as I know that a chance to say something like that would never come my way again.

The only reason the forums were pruned in the first place was because UBB sucked and would start coughing up blood all over the place when the posts got to a certain number. Posts would be lost, pages would go corrupt, and the thread listings would get REALLY funky. (Remember when someone's name would be in the date, and vice versa? )

The server has to "carry" it, though. That's what I'm referring to.

Haha that was hilarious. Peoples names started cropping up, who weren't even posting in the thread. I saw a ]-[ell2398159125734 once. Pretty funny. Sadly I didn't get a screenshot :(
