1. can I "cleave" up surfaces in wings?


2. If not, can I have negative objects that sort of dig into other normal objects (sort of like how digger brushes interact with normal brushes)

Please advise.

Haven't used Wings in a while, but yes, you can cleave in a way.

You go into point mode (?), select the two vertexes between which you want to draw a line, and press a key. I can't remember what it was, but it's pretty logical. I think it was connect or something?

If I remember correctly then you can do booleans (digging a hole in an object in the shape of another object or removing everything except for the space that the two shapes share) in Wings 3d. Here's how. What you can also do is select a surface and extrude it inwards. You'll get the same result, you just need to have the surface in the shape that you want.
