So cool....
Think while it's still legal.

LOOKS interesting, gameplay doesnt look like it'll entertain for longer than 30 seconds though.
2004-12-01, 1:36 PM #3
Are you kidding? I could play with that all day. As long as I didn't have to live with the shame of paying the same price as a proper game, that is.

So...why does Nokia still try to sell the N-Gage?

moving a pen across the screen and watching a dog do random stuff is just a little more interesting than moving a pen across paper and watching stuff form under the nib.

I was going to comment on the realism.... untill I saw the puppies skipping rope.
Meh, cute and all, but so not worth the price.
me, I'll stick with real dogs.

It looks frelling awesome for a DS. That's graphically the sweetest game I've seen yet on a (released) handheld.

People play sports games on a console all the time, when they could go outside and play the real thing... So I see no particular reason why this "game" is wrong purely because you could have areal pet. After all, virtual pets have the advantage of not as demanding.

This heavily reminds me of that new South Park episode where the school enjoy watching "wide angle shots of puppies and kittens"....

Ah, but I hate sports games. And besides, people can't play sports like a pro.
This is a lot different, the whole point of getting a pet is to love it and care for it and educate it and crap. If your loving and caring for a virtual pet, well thats just sad.

What if some kid cannot have a real puppy? This would be the second best thing. You going to call a poor little 7 year old who can't have a puppy sad? You lethargic devil.

If he can afford a Nintendo DS, I question how unable he is to properly care for a dog.

... You do know about allergies, parents and location of living right? That may not allow him to have a puppy. Geez.

The first game is from a Konami FPS known as "Coded Arms".
The second game is "Ridge Racers" and yes it is real time. You can watch the videos if you're not convinced.
The game is "Advent Shadow", I'm not sure if it is ingame screenshot though, but I think it is.

Yes I am aware.
It's sad when a kid has allergies and can't have animals, I feel they are missing out on something special.
That was my point exactly.

That third shot is most definitely not on the PSP. That image is 1,000x567, and yet it looks as if it was actualyl rendered at that reusltion, (1024x768, most likely) and it uses anti-aliasing, which is at a glaring absence in even the PS2 and XBox.

As for the second shot, it could be very well in-game... Except that it's anti-aliased as well. Most likely an FMV done with the in-game engine, as the polygon count looks staggeringly low, once you take a good look at it.
