POST YOUR COMMENTS HERE IF/WHEN YOU GET THE GAME.

Allright,
I pre-ordered this game.
I've been expecting it for more than 6 months...perhaps too much. I've been loving everything I've read about it. I adored POP:SOT.
My store released the game a day early, so I went in and got my Gamecube copy (no x-box :P long story, but I played the first POP, SOT, on GC and loved it, so GC isn't really that bad).

I don't know about other people but I am hugely disappointed.
THe game I thought would be so much more...so far isn't. I mean I loved it for awhile, then I was iffy, then I got back to liking it a whole lot more...but there is one critical thing. One error. One flaw, that stands out. I haven't seen it in any of the reviews I've read so far.

THIS GAME IS BUGGY AS HELL.
Seriously, it needed another 3 months of development, or more. :( I think it was rushed for a Christmas release. I guess yo ucan't expect much after only one year...but for crying out loud.

After about 2 hours of playing...
List of problems so far:

After getting killed, I've
- loaded with only the prince's head and swords, no body, but still able to fight semi-invisibly.
-loaded as an enemy character model that I hadn't even seen in-game yet (saw it about 30 minutes later). I actually played with the Prince's moves as this model.
- every time I died I'd keep loading as that character model..which...though extremely frickin cool looking...wasn't Prince! (I re-started the system and loaded an earlier game to fix this)

Other bugs...
- in-game cutscenes that were required to continue past certain rooms would not load, and I would re-load an earlier game, and the cutscenes would then kick in...my being "stuck" was actually not error of unable to solve a puzzle, but a monster was supposed to break open a wall that I'd passed many times being stuck.
- More than one of those cutscenes...two or three that I've noticed so far.
- this is almost indescribable without a video visual, but I'll try. Basically, about half of prince's body started getting warped around the room, while the other half was fine. the "invisible" "walking" "Moving" "fighting" prince worked, but the model physically appeared altered. For instance, the head suddenly was stretched, I'd see the black textures of his hair in a long string or ovular-like blob that went across the room, while his torso was fine, as well as most of his arms, but his legs and waist were unrecognizable because they were being stretched around the room too.
Also...As I moved around, different parts of his body would be warped in different shapes, almost like seeing his body as a strong light source and seeing the light rays emenate form his body, black, brown, and red colors were big stretching blobs that moved as the prince walked. Very...very wierd.

Lots of the action is also screwed up. Sometimes you'll fight and character models will be inside you or you'll attack an enemy that's next to you when you're facing another direction.

OTHER tHAN ALL THAT...

This game rocks.
Seriously, the story is good, it had a very decent and nice setup.
The action has about...maybe a hundred different combos, all of them mostly frickin sweet. There are lots of new motions and abilities, and there are quite a few revamps. Without all those bugs above, this game is easily a 9.0ish game.

I LIKE THIS GAME, but I want to hear what other people think, and to see if anyone else is experiencing the same bugs as I am :P.

Hopefully it's just the GameCube version that's so buggy...

Definitely gonna get it eventually. Too many other good games at the moment though...

Meh. Actually, I might have just had bad luck.
I've been playing it since, it's actually quite fun, and I haven't encountered any of those bugs since. The combat isn't as abd as I thought it was, it's actually really really sweet.

I'd reccomend this game most definately.

I just had too many bugs to start off the game :P.

from what I read over at ign, 3x longer.
Plus theres easy, medium, and hard modes now, so you can play it 3x and it'll be 9x longer.
Plus theres unlockable art.
Plus ... the bugs :P

I was going to get the PS2 version, but then I decided to get the GC version after reading the framerate issues in the PS2 version. Hopefully the GC version isn't as buggy as you said.
Although the game looks good, I don't really like how they replace the distinct Persian atmosphere with a typical goth-rock atmosphere.

I heard it doesn't have many puzzles in comparison to the first one.
Is this true? If so that's unfortunate, Prince of Persia has always been a puzzle game.
The combat sounds a lot better, but combat should be less then half of PoP.

I spent 1.5 hours today going around town and looking for it for PC. I found it at EB Games, for $10 over MSRP. So I came back and ordered it through the UBI Store. I kind of wanted to play it today, but oh well. I'd rather save $10 (shipping was $5, but with sales tax it would have come out more or less the same) and wait a few days.

Damn, I overlooked the offer of getting XIII for free with POP:WW. Not that XIII is a great game, but hey, a free game is a free game, right?

Ok, so no one else has played it?
Most if not all of the bugs I had are not happening anymore, the game is actually quite sweet.
Opinions? I love the game so far.

Played about 10 minutes round at a friends place. Felt like a more random less classy version of SoT.

The music and Prince's accent.... ARRRRRRRRRRGH!!!

lol, I read that from the POP forums.

"I smolder with generic rage" lol
You always hear this "Nyaa!" "MWaaaa!" as he swings the sword in the game, it can get annoying sometimes.

In all seriousness though, this game has named lots of faults, but that's only because the game has to live up to a name that is awesome. Playing this game, though it is less of the puzzle game...well kindof less, than SOT, I would have to say this is one of the best, if not the best, action adventure game I have played. This game could be GOTY IMO. The last half is really good, and it's just allaround fun by the time you get about 5 hours into it. The enemies get harder, you see more of them. They change, it's not all the same enemies, new abilities as you go, that was absent in the last one.

And the puzzles are almost all harder than the ones in SOT. Except maybe the mirrors.

The biggest flaw of this game is the fact that it's not halo2 or half-life 2 or SOT. Otherwise, all you can complain about is the music, and a couple bugs (well, and the incredible amount of violence). I'd give this game one point shy of whatever SOT got.

Even though alot of flaws are named, GO GET THIS GAME!!!
