I actually need some significant answers to this, because hope and the power of hope are going to be a huge theme is some stuff I'm writing, and I want to see where I need to come from.

Hope is an extremely strong emotion. The difference between 'hope' and 'faith' is pretty marginal, and we all know how powerful an emotion faith can be.
