Makes sense to me.. in a certain twisted way. Now they just need to retrofit all the enemy equipment with xbox controllers and they'll be crippled in combat.

Funny you mention it. A Red hummer with a PS2 in the back of it was trying to recruit kids for the Marines a week back. It's funny how the Army can stoop so low as to lure kids to join them by using video games and music. The Hummer has 4 huge speakers in it too.

[They should use gamecube controllers...more comffy.]

Heh, a red hummer came to our school too a few months back. No Playstation in it, but they gave away free t-shirts and had big-*** speakers in it too.

Rod, funny how you mention Red Hummers but don't mention America's Army..

Next-gen tanks are supposed to be fully controlled by controls based on console control design.

It's also funny how he would think people would be so shallow as to actually be lured to join the military by games or music. In the almost four years I spent as a recruiter I never met anyone who joined for those reasons. I also don't recall the Army ever using games or music as a recruiting method. America's Army is a great tool to give people another multi-media method to explore the Army but I hardly think it's a method to "lure" recruits.

I just think of it as another tool to communicate with.

I haven't been able to play the game myself yet. My card is "not supported". pfft

Umm, free crap never made me want to join. The reason I joined was for more spending $$$ and more college $$$. That's it.

Personally, American Army made me not want to join. I played that game a year ago, and I can't recall the number of times dying on this bridge level.

...

Are you insane? I find that to be the WORST controller ever designed for comfort. I can't play anything with that controller for longer than 10 minutes. My hands cramp up, then my wrists hurt like hell, then my thumbs start to lock up. Yea, comfort if you consider pain comfort. Not to mention that I seem to always manage to hit at least 2 other buttons every time I go to press ONE. Even when I really try, I end up hitting others. The Playstation controller follows closely behind the Gamecube controller. The XBox controller is the only one I've ever felt completely comfortable with. After 30 minutes of playing, I seriously can't tell I'm even holding one anymore.

To get back on topic...

Nothing the Armed Forces say, do, or show me will make me want to enlist. They have my respect, but it's not my thing. I'm pretty damn sure if I got drafted I'd end up in jail trying to evade or for refusing, in another country evading, or be in a courtroom for insubordination within a week of arriving. Yea...

I dunno. I like the PS2 the best. toss up between GC and XBox. GC is too small and the XBox controller is too big. Not too mention if you play a game that requires buttion mashing, it hurts like hell.
