Get a job, that way you can afford a new computer and play HL2.

Plus, a job cures loneliness as 1) It keeps you occupied so your mind doesn't go off on thoughts like that 2) Gives you money so you can buy stuff!

You are on the right track, but not quite there. You shouldn't rely on others for happiness, but you shouldn't really prefer to be alone, either. Also, not all "friends" are out to give you grief.

It's one of those tricky in-between situations.

I prefer to be alone, actually. But maybe that's because most people I know are:

A. Stereotypical shallow, angsty teenagers
B. Budding alchoholics
C. Stereotypical rednecks/wannabe stereotypical rednecks
D. Any combination of the above

But really Dogs, it'll get better. My summer was spent not seeing any of my friends - but once I started uni, everything went up again.

Lucky. I didn't see my buddies at all this summer, seeing as I was working 60 hour weeks. Now at university, I live too far from the school to really take part in the social activities. It really sucks. If I wasn't living with my girlfriend (the only company I have, not that I'm complaining), I think I'd have gone nuts by now.
