MaDa, as many of you may know, but not remember, died exactly a year to this day. He was well respected, well loved, and is greatly missed in the Massassian community. This thread is to remember him, pay homage to his work, and to maybe post about the good times you had with him.

Remember, though, that you shouldn't only focus on the bad times, but also on the good. Hopefully, wherever he is, he knows we all miss him.

I've cleaned out my buddy list several times in the last year but Adam's is the one screen name i can't delete from that list.

here's to MaDaVentor, one of our own.

I'd only spoken to him personally a couple of times, but if it is acceptable to judge someone by those that loved him, the reaction to his death was enough to convince me that he was a wonderful guy.

He was a great guy from what I remember.

The thread shocked me quite much back then, and it still does.

In all honesty, this has been a very slow year. It seems like it's been years since MaDa has been with us. :(

A year already..?

I find it weird that I cared about MaDa, but not about old relative that keeled over a little while ago.
Hey, Blue? I'm loving the things you do. From the very first time, the fight you fight for will always be mine.

That was indeed a fast year. Too fast.

Here's to you, MaDa. :(

This is Shelah and I am about to go visit my brother Adam/Mada's gravesite. I decided to log on here to see if anyone happened to remember him. It is very touching to know you all still care and still miss him like we do. He was so funny and such a good person and I miss him like crazy every day. Thank you for keeping his memory alive at Massassi. He loved this site and all of his friends here. I wish more than anything he was here to tell you that himself. Thank you again.

He was an awesome guy -- I talked to him quite frequently.

Rest in peace...

Of all the things I had thought of today, I didn't realize it'd been a year already...

I knew it was coming up, but managed to forget it was today.

He's definitely missed.

Life hasn't been quite the same without him.

I don't know if you'll come back to read this, or if you will know the answer, but is there anything we can do to help support your brother's website? I know he was having trouble with funding, who is supporting it at the the moment, and is there anything we can do?
2004-12-09, 2:48 PM #26
Yeah, we'd be more than happy to help out.

Adam will always live on in Massassi, and in the hearts of everyone he's ever met. I don't need to miss him because I know his love, and I know he's certainly somewhere here. I always try to refrain from the ubuu bashing in light of Mada :-P

And the MaDamemorial pack is still in the works. Halucid and I are currently doing levels, and Kyle09 made a spiffy lava level too. We don't have half as many people that offered to help, but we have some very high quality maps to offer the community. If you're interested, just e-mail me at madamemorial@sorrowind.net

I suggest that, if you want to honor MaDa this holiday season, donate some cash, anything, to a local toys for tots, or make-a-wish foundation. Even if you can only donate 5 dollars, it's in a spirit that Adam would have applauded, and something that will keep his good nature in our hearts forever.

Yes, a memorial thread. I guess I can spare a few words. I didn't know MaDa, but a way of expressing a mournfull sorrow is through Family Guy.

And God said to Abraham, "You shall kill your son, Issiac."

And Abraham replied, "What? I can't hear you, you'll have to speak in the microphone."

God said, "Oh, I'm sorry. Is this better? Check, one, two, check."

Time to read what his thread were.

[EDIT]: Will delete this reply if found offencive to some. I have read what post there were on Adam, and I have a question. Did that level pack ever get made?

Live on, Adam.

MaDa's friend Travis is supporting the site and has paid for the next year. If you want to contribute, page him on this site and let him know. We appreciate all of your support. Thanks Travis!

The last time I spoke with him, he asked me to take a look at his texture library again and see the pure volume of his work. He said that that in of itself was a good accomplishment in the career of an artist such as himself, and looking at my JED window with textures and 3dos made originally in his, I can do nothing but agree. When I heard of his death, I was building a room exclusively decorated with his artwork.

Here's to an individual who influenced a community through his passion for his interest and skill in graphic art and level design.

I don't think I ever got the chance to talk directly to him, but I remember when he died, Massassi seemed to be a much more mellow, humble place there for awhile. You could feel that something was missing.

Godspeed, wherever you are Mada.
