It's not a remake. If it was a remake, it would be called Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory. This, however, is a different version of the book, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory by Roald Dahl.

I am looking forward to it, but mostly because I want to see squirells throwing a little girl down a big whole instead of ducks making a girl get sucked up by a vacuum.

I don't know what to think of this movie...I mean it's Tim Burton, maker of a Nightmare before Christmas and Edward Scissorhands. On the other hand, it's Tim Burton, maker of Planet of the Apes. And despite my hopes, Depp doesn't look too good.

Don't forget Sleepy Hollow. Such a good movie, and another example of Tim Burton + Johnny Depp + Danny Elfman goodness.
