The Lime Lite...

As I'm sure many of you know, I've been "maintaining" The Lime Lite since Adam's passing...

Well I'm just about to finish up a Web Design class, and thought maybe I should go through the HTML coding for the website, and "rescript" it a little to make it more "compliant" and look about the same across all web-browsers, and maybe try to clean up the code a bit, possibly even with some CSS and stuff...

But I don't know if I should leave it the way it is, since the point of the site is to keep it up as Adam had, less the Forums, as there were some issues with it)...

So I thought I'd ask for your input, and get an idea what you think would be best.

My opinion doesn't really matter because I was mostly lurking when he was around and I don't go to the site, but I think it would be better to fix it up a little so it looks the same on all browsers.
Don't you think he would want it to look the same for all browsers? He'd probably fix it himself if he could. I think keeping it functional would be better.

For a compromise, you could update it but keep the original up too.

I really don't think it's IMPORTENT enough to change, but there's certainly nothing immorally wrong with it. The contents are importent, not that it's kept perfectly the way he left it.

as long as you keep the layout and graphics intact, I don't see anything wrong with fixing a few coding bugs.
The music industry is a cruel and shallow money trench where thieves and pimps run free, and good men die like dogs. There's also a negative side.

As long as it looks the same its fine by me.

Haha, the poll is totally split just like I figured it'd be. You're screwed. :D

For all you Winamp users, also, here's something else to remember him by.

A good skin, too.

well i didn't vote but here's my 2 cents. keep in mind i never used any of adam's work and i might have chatted with him once or twice in irc in 3 years.

there's two ways of looking at it.
- it was adam's site and it should be preserved in his memory.
- everything evolves. and adam would've updated and changed the site on his own. who better to do it than some fellow massassians.

i really don't have an opinion or say.

I say fix it. Think of it this way...would he have said "No, don't fix it! I want it just that way!" or would he have said "Go ahead and fix it, I don't mind,"?

It all depends on your spiritual beliefs and whether or not you think you'd offend his spirit. :)

I think bug fixes for his site would be a welcome gesture. :D

What Would Adam Do?

(I don't know him, but I think that he's like anybody else, and want it updated for easier convience for people, wouldn't he?)

I would definately agree, update it. I'm sure Mada wouldn't mind. :)

However, I was just wondering - before the website went down for a while, there were a lot more textures than there are now - there was a moon and some western textures and carpet, it was more like 4 or 5 pages of textures instead of 3. Whatever happened to them? Are they still around, because I'd really like to see a full list for my next project and use a fair number.

Please, either PM me, send me an email, or post here (or all three).

Thanks.

Despite this being 50/50 every time I look, I think that, because no one's posted against it, that you should go with the opinion of the people who cared enough to post.

Did Adam use a WYSIWYG or did he roll it by hand? If he used Dreamweaver or some such, go ahead and update it. Otherwise, leave it intact...
And when the moment is right, I'm gonna fly a kite.

Sure, go ahead and do it. I can't see any harm in it if the content and overall theme stays.
