Anyone have it yet? It came out yesterday where I live and it looked awesome so I was wondering if I should go get it.

I was thinking about getting it. Not cause it might be a good RTS but because its LOTR and it looks pretty fun. The reviews say its just decent but because of the characters and graphics you can really get into the fights more. However its not like Rome Total war with thousands of units, thats only in cutscenes, in game its more like warhammer.

I am tempted. Reviews said it is pretty but shallow, which is good.

Even though I am a die-hard Rome:Total War fan\addict, I still think I might buy BFME just cause it's LOTR, even though Rome:Total War's game engine is so much more well suited for the huge LOTR battles.

Oh, and I read that in BFME it makes no difference if you flank an enemy at all. Wtf? Even in the movies, it showed the benefit of flanking. I read that a unit of enemy spearman will slaughter your cavalry EVEN WHEN THEIR SPEARS ARE FACING THE OTHER DIRECTION. Once again, RTW's engine just fits better into LOTR.

Either way, despite it's huge engine flaws, it's LOTR, so what the hell...

Its not really an engine flaw, its just that the developers decided to make things very simply for the mass public. I'm just hoping that stats and other things can be changed per map or with a little unit editing to at least make the game more tactically varied. (its basicaly as complicated as Warcraft2).

Ok I've been forum browsing and it appears EA has done it again with B4ME. The Same mistakes present in C&C Generals are starting to crop up (horrible support and engine slowdowns). EA of course sticking to what they do best are hard at work not making a patch but more then likely making an expansion that includes fixes to the original game.

I really want to play this game but i know im gonna hate it out of the box. I guess ill wait till price goes down and some decent mods come out to address the unit balancing (range units in numbers out do anything).
