Motherboard that is... HA!

Anyway, so here's the story...

I bought a couple computer parts off of a friend, and he gave me an extra motherboard with them, it's PS/2 slots (keyboard/mouse ports) didn't work, and it wasn't the right mobo for anything I'd use it for.

My fiance was messing around with it, and started plucking components off, then got the idea to smash it with a hammer... I found a hammer, and we got to work.

These are the results:

There weren't enough explosions and sparks.

You should've broke it while it was still plugged in. It would've been more entertaining for us, especially if fire was involved. Also, you should have thrown gasoline on it. Then doused it out later with bleach. And then, you should've eaten it. Then went to a doctor and photographed his reaction to finding pc components in your stomach.

Ok, I'm done now. :o

I thought about doing that, but I was just to lazy to put it in a computer and get it working, even though it's not that much work...

Maybe next time though.

I hope you did realize that if the MOBO had USB ports, a PS/2 keyboard and mouse would not be required. Most all mobos with USB ports will boot with USB keyboards and mice... making the mobo completely useful.

Thanks for ruining fun, CM. You always ruin all the fun, GAWD.

Yes, that I do know... but it had only 2 PCI slots and one AGP slot, and I personally like having more than just 3 slots on a motherboard... even if I don't necessarily need more.

Plus, according to a sticker on the mobo, it was for a Pentium 4 (but the Athlon XP 2600 I got from my friend fit on it... but I didn't care) and if you'll ask anyone that knows me real well, I won't build an Intel system unless it's absolutely necessary the processor be Intel... but that's not the topic, if you want to discuss AMD vs Intel, do it in another thread or if, for some reason, you want to talk to me personally about it, PM, IM, or E-mail me.

Did you stop to think that you (possibly?) had wooden floorboards beneath the carpet? Mashing it with a hammer probably ain't so great :)

Basement.

Concrete below the carpet, not wood... and no padding between, the carpe was just extra from one place my dad was working, and just unrolled it in that room.

Someone I know on another forum fixed a mobo that was broken in two, by hand.

I think maybe you just might have been a teency weency little bit crazy at the time you mutilated the thing. And when I was in 6th grade... I liked to take stuff apart, but smashing things in my oppinion was useless.

Depends on what you're smashing. I find destroying things (Useless things, that is) to be a good way to let out violent agression from time to time.

Indeed...a lot of good electronic components wasted.
