Framerates, please? We can't drool effectively drool over simply 1024x768x24 images, especially when you haven't even turned the anti-aliasing on.

I haven't gotten my new AMD in yet, I'm still running on my Duron AMD 800MHz. I'm getting a 2200 or 2500 in. Plus 80GB Harddrive. It runs fine on detail like that. With slow downs in some really intense places. So, no framerate yet! I'll tell you when I get my AMD!

Rarely... very rarely anymore... does a game make me feel that way... especially just by looking at the pictures...

Tsk, tsk. I say get the Athlon first, then the Radeon... That's what I'm doing (by the time I've gotten an Athlon 64, 9800XTs should still be great, but cost mabye $300)

Lucky you. Just so happens that Far Cry isn't compatible with my Mobile Radeon card. I'm starting to rue the day I decided to get a laptop over a desktop. But I think I'll go surf the web in this great weather now with my wireless card. Doh!

I'm looking forward to getting a new card... I suspect it will either be a Radeon 9800 Pro or a 9800XT, depending on how much the prices drop because of ATI's upcomming new card.

Who doesn't?!?! I think I am at the end of the demo. It's getting hard. I just went through a HUUUUUGE door. And a bunch of guys on barrles appeared. then over a bridge I got surrounded by 30+ guys. Then on the bridge next to it is a large skull.

GeForce 2 GTS 64MB, AMD Duron 800MHz

In the updated shots, it's still an AMD 800Mhz, just the graphics card is now the Radeon 9600 XT/TD

First off, you really should have spent that cash on your CPU, RAM, or HD.

I've got all that detail if not more, running at 40 fps minimum. On a Geforce4Ti4400.

Newer graphics cards than that are silly wastes of money. A P4 3.2 HyperThreaded CPU and 1 GB memory is not [http://forums.massassi.net/html/wink.gif]

CPU, RAM, or HD?

I already have 512 MB of RAM. I just ordered a AMD 2200 or 2500...I forgot! and I just ordered a 80 GB HD. The video card just arived first.

I just got an ASUS Radeon 9600XT also [http://forums.massassi.net/html/smile.gif] 128mb version, with VIVO features. I'm using it in my dad's comp (Athlon XP 1700) while waiting for my new mobo - my old one doesn't support AGP 3.0.

I'm playing Max Payne 2 at 1280x1024 in true color, all detail to high, 6x anti-aliasing.

Pure sex [http://forums.massassi.net/html/biggrin.gif] I took my card out to compare with my old one (Radeon 7500) and it can't even run without putting it in 16-bit at 800x600. I might take some shots when I get home.

Shaders are incredible [http://forums.massassi.net/html/smile.gif]

[edit] Oh and SAJN, go to ATI's website and grab the realtime demos for the 9700 and 9800 and see what the XT is really capable of [http://forums.massassi.net/html/wink.gif] The chimp scene (for the 9800) is amazing! [http://forums.massassi.net/html/biggrin.gif]

Nuff said. BTW, hyperthreading does crap unless you are into editing...not really that big of a boost in performance for gaming. However, a 3200+ oc'ed to 4000+ or better...well... [http://forums.massassi.net/html/wink.gif]. And also, you'd be surprised the performance diff between a 9700 pro and a Ti4400, even at stock. It's not that great. Of course...the 9800 pro and XT, and the 9600XT leave them both in the dust. [http://forums.massassi.net/html/biggrin.gif]
