I wish Adams hadn't of died.
May he R.I.P.

I loved the books, some of the greatest writing ever.
Kenya, Now with lions and tigers.

That trailer was hugely disappointing, regardless of the fact that I've seen it before.

But still, books = awesomeness, film = ohgodpleasedon'tsuck

I've got the books as a 'Trilogy in Five Parts' in one big hardback, I'm not sure if it's all of tHGttG, but even so, how the hell are they gonna fit it all in one film?

Its an interpretation of the first book. However, Douglas has many versions of Hitchhikers that contradict each other. The books contradict the radio series, etc. The movie will keep some of the main points from the books, but it will be very much its own version.

Exactly. So technically, it can't be completely bad, since there isn't one version it has to live upto. Doesn't mean they can't get everything COMPLETELY wrong though...

Well, Douglas wrote the screenplay, so I'm not too worried. :D

nothig beats the radio drama. it is the original, and the best version out there. some of the stuff that wasnt said on air but was in the script are just fecing hilarious. buy the original radio scripts book for the best version, and find the drama on cd(dont get the mp3 version the compression blows and you can barely hear it) you're in for a treat if you do.
My girlfriend paid a lot of money for that tv; I want to watch ALL OF IT. - JM

Which Radio version? Weren't there several? I think we have ALL of the NPR version on tape, and those aired many years ago.

Our set that we recorded off NPR dates back to '83. I need to get all of those into a digital format sometime...
