Errors on Forums?
2004-12-13, 10:49 AM #1
I got emailed about a bunch of errors in the forum SQL and also the forums wouldn't let me post. I tracked the problem to two corrupted database files. I had to delete and re-create the tables. Fortunately they were not "important" tables - they were the subscription to threads table and the search index.

So you probably lost all your subscriptions.

And the search probably won't work worth crap until the index is rebuilt. I'll try to remember to rebuild it late tonight (can't do it now it takes a lot of processing power).

Right.

Well, I don't ever use thread subscriptions.

Yeah I had a problem a little while earlier, but it went away after a few minutes.

I noticed some php-error while posting an answer, but it went by too fast for me to see it. And since my answer was posted I figured it wasn't really important. Could that be related?
Sorry for the lousy German

It kept saying something like "error, sorry about that, massassi is having difficulties, so stfu"
Plus or minus a phrase or two.

And I couldn't post anything :P

There is and has never been a "www" in front of forums.massassi.net. The correct address is:

http://forums.massassi.net/

Brian he meant for the main site. Sounds like his DNS server is returning the wrong address for www.massassi.net but the right one for massassi.net

Mech, my parents had a virus or spyware that screwed up web URLs - have you tried doing a virus/spyware/malware scan recently?
