...for our National Anthem, sung by senior Stephanie [my last name]!

That's right, I've been asked to sing the national anthem for school games. Actually it was just basketball games but then the wrestling coach asked me to sing for the wrestling matches as well after he heard me tonight. I've done it 2 nights (4 games) and it's great! I've gotten so many compliments (granted most people don't really know much about what they're talking about so how would they know if I were to go flat, but still, it's nice to hear...) I actually made my principal cry. I'm dead serious. She was wiping her eyes and I thought something had happened or something but then she tells my mom that she still has goosebumps, etc... Granted, she doesn't really know either because the music department is sadly overlooked by the school administration.

The down side is I found out after I was asked and accepted that Andrew and Brittney (not that you really know who they ae but whatever) REALLY wanted to do it (andrew being the king of our school's chorus) He kind of deserves it and I felt kind of bad, I think I'll miss one and let him take over. britney, I'm afraid to say, can't really sing all that well, so I don't know about her.

But aside from that, I'm rally excited. I'm still kind of on the post-performance adrenaline rush, so I decided to share my good news with you all. YAY!!!!

Congrats!

I wouldn't worry too much about Andrew, if he's good enough to be 'king' of your choir, then he'll have other opportunities, though letting him do one would be a nice gesture.

As we see here, people seem to dislike CAPSLOCK and wish to rant against it.

Congrats. :) I did "O, Canada" for the local junior hockey league a couple times a while back, on the saxophone. Great stuff. :)

Oooooh. After seeing this thread topic for 10th time, I finally got that you meant "caps" as in hats, not as in capslock.

I feel stupid.

Oh, and congratulations. I'm sure you'll knock 'em flat.

lol wow I didn't even catch that! I was kind of wondering what Thrawn meant :)

Thanks again! Andrew and I are going to switch off between wrestling and basketball, so that's all good.

Congrats!

I suppose there aren't any chances of getting a recording posted somewhere so that we could hear you sing it?

Congratulations :)

Just remember that although someone might not know all the technical terms or whatever, that doesn't mean they can't appreciate music. And by the sounds of it, you certainly touched a few people :)

thanks livid, that's nice to hear. and lassev...I doubt it, though my mom wants me to make a cd for my aunt for christmas (she's never head me sing, though isn't that a little concieted, kind of like giving someone your picture for christmas or something?). My voice teach has the equipment to make cd's so if it ends up happening, I'll see what I can do :)
