Meet the Superman

After creating my Batman Begins thread, I remember reading in the latest issue of Wizard that they finally casted the new Superman. Bryan Singer is attached to direct (he has confirmed this) and chose a no name actor named Brandon Routh, who looks like a cross between Keanuu Reeves and a brick wall.

I personally can't stand the look of him. He looks like he could be his brother, and the eyes (even though he'll have contacts) don't fit. I personally think they should have used Tom Welling.
I can't think of anything to put here right now.

i saw this a while ago, and i still think he looks perfect.

I'm somehwhat torn because I think Bryan Singer will do a great job, but this is delaying X3 at the same time.

Avenger, he might drop X-Men 3 all together and give it to another director.

That's a pretty accurate description of him there THRAWN!!! I like remakes of old movies, especially superhero/comic ones, even though I complain about the ravaging of childhood.

I'm glad to know I'm not the only one who thinks its his long lost baby brother.

They should have him say "Woah..." in the movie when he first realizes he can fly.

Well.. Christopher Reeve was an unknown actor before he got cast as Superman, if that counts for anything. Which it doesnt.

He looks too young, which obviously also goes for Tom Welling. Not that I have any idea when this film will be set...

Meh, I like most comic to movies, I've always hated superman though.
He was just too much.
You can't judge a book by it's file size

Christopher Reeve also became a type cast and he hated it.

http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0001741/

The movie isn't even listed in his name on that website. The only thing listed for his profile is Superman. Now, before you go "Well maybe it hasn't been put up yet cause..."

http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0000136/

Johnny Depp has movies listed in his profile slated for 2007 release. That can be anywhere from 2 and a half to 3 years away.

Face it, X-Men 3 will either come out in 4 years when Superman is done, or someone else will direct. Singer has said that he can't do both movies. Sadly I wish he'd do X-Men 3 over Superman because I don't want another director coming in and ruining the series. That's like having someone else direct the original trilogy...woops wait, that made those movies better :D
I can't think of anything to put here right now.
