I have two 3dfx voodoo2s sitting around which can be SLId together. They take up two PCI slots and work with your existing graphics card (they can take over the 3d portion). They are great for old games (such as jedi knight, and up to and including quakeIII). If you have an OLD computer and want these, I will mail them to you if you mail me a self-addressed, stamped, box with foam peanuts or something so they don't break on the way. Or you can just put 3 bucks in it if you don't want to pre-stamp it, and I'll mail them to you.

If there are more than one of you that want them, please post your computer specs and more importantly, your gfx card specs. Also, you should feel comfortable adding pci cards to your system, otherwise you may break something.

Nice, but I "don't have access" to the server.

These voodoo cards, can they be used as collection trays for table scraps?

That's crazy. Why the Russian magazine?

I've got a GeForce2 - totally lame.

I have an old 386SX I plan on turning into a file server this summer that might like these. Or maybe my Pentium II with an ATI Rage Pro Turbo [insert statements of hate here] would like those. E-mail me your mailing address?

P.S. Brian has postcount: 1080. Coolness.

I have an old P133 packed away that I'm thinking about getting fired back up sometime soon. I don't remember which off the top of my head but I have a Voodoo card in it that can also be linked. I'm interested and if I can have a couple days I'll let you know which card I already have in it.

On a side note, I'm planning on setting this old PC up in my garage. I want to network it with my other computers and internet connection. I'll need to add a network card. Most say Win 98 or above in the requirements but I did find one on www.compusa.com that works on Win 95. Anyone know if there would be a reason that I wouldn't be able to get this old P133/Win95 machine working on my network (a Win Me desktop and Win 98 laptop, cable internet)?

I'm not really sure how advanced Win95 networking was. You may have some trouble getting all the computers to talk to each other. I know that I've had numerous problems getting files to and from my WinXP notebook and my Win98 desktop. I guess if you can install TCP/IP or IPX, you should be able to get them all to talk.

Networking with 95/98/ME is HARDCORE suckage, although the community for 98 is good enough that they've got good docs on how to do it. Best idea? Put your "Server" in your fastest comp, and share the drives over the network.

Back to the Vid Cards. No, I don't want them, but if anyone has a Radeon *doesn't even matter which one* or All-In-Wonder they don't want/can't use/will sell, contact me, I want it... [http://forums.massassi.net/html/smile.gif]

Try putting the Network Config Wizard on a floppy and running that on your 98 machine. That's always worked for me when my manual configs wouldn't work properly.

I have an old P133 in my garage that I use as a router. It doesn't even have a graphics card or a keyboard. So, no, I don't need your voodoo2s (and I don't think that 3$ would be enough to mail them).
I once had a Voodoo2 myself. I remember being totally angry at my parents because they bought the 8MB-Versions instead of the 12MB.

Someone can probably beat it, but I have a 90Mhz Gateway2000, 64 MB EDO RAM, only sees harddrives less than 1 gig. I have two harddrives in it, the original 515 MB harddrive is slaved to an added 1 GIG HD. The slave is mounted via rubber bands the the cage that surrounds the power supply. It has a 4x CD-ROM. Video is sent through an anchient (literally, I went to ATi's web site and couldn't find anything on it hardly) ATi Mach 64 Turbo. Jedi Knight runs, but graphics look like doodoo.

Now, someone probably has older, but do you use it often? I have this one up and running at least 3 times a week doing something on it.

Oh, and for the last moment of impossibility and crazyness, I have Photoshop 5.5 running on it as well. I don't DARE do any major work on it, but for smallish projects it does pretty well. It's just very, very, VERY slow.

I'd take you up on the offer Brian, but this POS machine would be the only thing that they'd go into, and I really don't need anymore computer hardware/equipment right now. Plus the fact that I believe that within the next 6 months this box will be moving on and replaced with something a little less anchient.

I mentioned a 386SX that's still running. I think it's 16mhz or so. I still use it to play Space Quest 1 and the original Wing Commander. [http://forums.massassi.net/html/biggrin.gif]

A 386 won't have PCI slots, and it's rare to find a 486 with them.

I gots a Compaq 486SX 66mhz with exactly ONE PCI slot in it. The video card is onboard 1MB (2mb expandable) video card, that just barely supports 32bit color at 640x480.

But I wouldn't dare use it anymore, especially after I stripped it of EVERYTHING. LEDs, CDROM (2x [http://forums.massassi.net/html/biggrin.gif] ), floppy, its whopping upgraded 16MB ram, and some other stuff. [http://forums.massassi.net/html/biggrin.gif]

here's the specs for my oldest comp that i still have (currently out in the garage)

It was a packard bell multimedia d-130

stock configuration:

1 gb hd
16 mb ram
133 mhz
sound blaster 16
3.5 floppy drive

here's the present config

1 gb hd
133 mhz
8 gb drive (added later)
80 mb ram
8x cdrom drive
sound blaster 16

Uber crappy. It was a mediocre machine even when it was new back in 1996, but it got the job done.

It doesn't work and hasn't worked for a long time at least under windows. Perhaps I could try putting linux on it and use it as a server.

I have a Celeron 500MHz, 128MB RAM, 8 Gig HD, and NO special video card. I'm using the chipset that's on my motherboard (which is Intel Witney VGA). I can't even take full advantage of DirectX. How lame is that?

Did I mention this is the only computer I have?
