Well, we just went for ice cream and ended up eating there and talking for 4 hours. She does like movies, so I was thinking just going to a movie would be cool, but clearly that's not enough.

[Edit: Haha, det...we'll see if I do. :) We'll see.]

Drink? Coffee/tea/beers/whatevers?

do something fun, like

miniture golf
amusement park
bowling
etc.

Movies are lame dates b/c theres no chance for true interaction. From my experience, action dates are by far the best.

Go see a movie you think you'll both enjoy, then take her someplace to eat afterward. Works best if there's substance in the movie to discuss over post-cinematic dinner.

Case-by-case basis. She may not want to an "action" date.

Use your imagination and do something creative. If you **** up it's okay. Next week you'll be oogling someone else.

I've had few second dates - my companions like me enough that they last past two outings.

Take her hunting. Or into the city sewers.

One of the best dates I had was laser-tag.
Theres something incredibly fun about running around in the dark and shooting my girl with laser guns. :) Chicks like to have as much fun as we do.

I dunno, I'd generally recommend a film for a first/second date. If you do that first, then whatever you do after - dinner/drinks/etc - you'll be guaranteed to have something to talk about.

By the sounds of things, there wasn't an issue with conversation the first time round, so maybe something more interactive would be better. Save the movie idea for a cozy night in!

see, I disagree w/ movie dates b/c you can't talk and can't interact when you are sitting in a theatre.

The most you can do is that stupid cliche arm-stretch thing.

If you're going to see a movie, it's definitely not enough. I'm with Wolfy on this. Take her to dinner afterwords. You might also considering hanging out somewhere for a while before the movie starts. I like to use italics.

So I almost posted on this thread, than I saw that the last poster was PW, so I decided to post this instead.

There should be Forum T-shirts, so I can just access a database of .jpgs with phrases such as the above.

Speaking of the "stupid cliche arm stretch", does it actually work?
Stuff
2004-12-15, 7:52 PM #24
It has for me, but there was no fake yawning involved. IT's great at those theaters where the arm rest folds up.

The arm stretch is cool, but don't act like you're trying to hide it or make it sneaky. Just grow balls and throw it over her shoulder, the confidence you show from that move is a ++++

You know what's perfect?

Go to a local amusement park, like disneyland, then when you're on a roller coaster ride or something with a camera, just when hte flash is about to go off, quickly grab her shirt, and pull yourself out of the seatbelt then jump off, and scream "oh crap, I lost my footing and we're 50 feet in the air," she'll freak out! *watch out for big falls*

Murder. That's always my choice for second date.

If you're going to go to the movie, use the old hole in the bottom of the bag, fly open combo. That'll surprise them.

I'm not going to say I know anything about second dates...or even firsts....

but anyway I've watched movies and they lead me to believe that a second date should be around a lake or pond or something...with fireworks and stuff....or whatever

try fishing, sounds kinda romantic to me, just when she starts talking don't go "shush you'll scare the fish"

My only advice is to leave the sex out for another date, second date sex typically implies a short relationship.

OK, time for Uncle Detty to step in

1) you should have got over any fears and awkwardness of 1 on 1 interaction with this lady during your first date.
2) second date should be far more relaxed, so whatever you choose to do should work, but if you choose to see a movie, arrange to meat an hour beforhand so you can have a good ol' chat about stuff, afterwards you want to get a meal, but nothing too posh or expensive. Pizza Hut would do the trick.
3) ???
4) Love
