Mmmhmm... except I think the violent game ban thing is more of a case of mistaken association. They see violent teenagers playing violent games and they immediately assume that the violent actions have resulted from the games. But they haven't proved it... it could easily be the other way around! And gamers all over the world are proof that the assumption can't be true, or at least it's only a factor. Another case to consider is a third facor... what if, say, growing up in a violent household causes violent behavior, AND a desire to play violent games? See, you just don't know unless you do a formal study. </rant>

I've always wondered how many people TOTAL I've killed in video games throughout my life. Including RTS and FPS games. Hmm... maybe some day I'll try to do some math to get some kind of estimate. Probably in the millions...

The only game where I've ever felt bad about killing people was in Deus ex right after you switch sides and you have to escape the UNATCO HQ where you used to work and kill the guards you used to work with (and the guy who went to the academy with you!). I usually just try to stun them and sneak past the rest.
