Hey people I've been busy!
Two days ago I did mostly all of my xmas shopping (this was in Orlando). Got home passed out. Then I drove up to my sisters house, picked her up drove back down to Orlando, then yesterday I was out for 5 hours, checking out possible reception area's for my sisters wedding next year.
Then tonight I drove us back up to my sisters house. I helped my sister host a holiday party, helped cook, and basically cleaned everything up afterwards. We had appetizers of a Greek salad that I made, crackers, cheese, dips, bread, caramel popcorn with almonds. Then for drinks there was cokes. wine and water. Then for dinner it was a chicken with this guava dressing which was my mom's recipe. jim's ribs (my sisters fiance) sliced avocado, rice, beans and salad with mango dressing. Dessert was this puerto rican dish my sis made (again my mom's recipe), pumpkin pie (brought by one of the people), cookies, like chocolate tarts and then coffee and hot chocolate.
Basically I kept cleaning the whole time and by the time the party was finished everything had been picked up. my sis and jim were like thank u so much. I was really up on watching as everyone finished, so that I could throw things away., putting silverware to clean. I put away some clean dishes, before I helped cook and set up the table etc. I took coats and purses. Made small talk etc, and then I was picking up empty plates, packing food for people to take home and storing the rest in the fridge and i['m dead tired. Then tommorrow or the day after i[', driving back to Orlando to take family xmas pix with the fam. before Jim goes to WI for xmas, and then he comes back for New Years. All I can say is i'm Tired and HAPPY HOLIDAYS! haha
Does anyone else have any crazy/hectic holiday stories?
Laura
[Edit: It was about 17 people overall at the party (we were only expecting 6 or 7), not too bad, and everyone said they were stuffed and loved the food ]
