the oldest coin that you have in your house?

the oldest coin that I have is a New Zeland florina (some coin that is the size of our 20 cent coin that they used before decimal currency) that comes from 1949.

the oldest australian coin I have is from 1962 and it is a threepence. It is smaller than our current 5 cent coin.

Anyways, post the oldest coin in your house.

(the topic came up because I was going through all the small change coins we had and puting them into bags. I have over $100 AU.)

I have thousands of coins sitting around in my house. I'm not going to look at each one for the date. *shrug*

I think I have a pre-1920 penny kicking around..and I have dozens of wheat pennies (1957ish and older).

I also have a 1930s $20 bill in excellent condition. :)

also, I once got told off (jokingly) by my mum for calling a new zeland coin obsolete (we were in the internation gates area of the sydney airport waiting for our plane to LA and we were donateing all the aussie small change that we had in our wallets). She changed her mind after I pointed out it was pre decimal currency.

I used to have a penny from 1883. I gave it to my grandparents for safe keeping and then after both grandparents had died, my aunt sold off their coin collection, so I never was able to get it back or even find out what it had been worth.

I've got a ~200BC one laying around somewhere. I've also got one from ~200AD and ~300AD. Apparently so many were minted that they're cheep as heck. Mine were around 7$ each.
