When does the PSP come out in the US?
2004-12-17, 3:05 PM #1
My friends are getting DS's for christmas, and I was thinking about getting one as well after christmas, but the PSP also interests me (I want the DS more though). I was wondering when the PSP comes out in the US. If it's in a year or so I'll just go and buy the DS then get a PSP after a few years, but if the PSP is coming out in a month or so then I might have to re-think...

Yarr, the DS it is!

I'm going to Germany/Austria in April, some of my friends are going too, so the multiplayer DS on the plane and in the hotel should be fun.

Unless they make you turn it off due to wireless interference (Same with cell phones), at least on the plane :p

On the back of most electronics it says they may not cause interference and must accept any interference given to them so I hope the DS is the same...if not it will still be fun in the hotel :p

And on the plane...

*boop beep boop* *sudden change in the pressure* "Uh.. this is your pilot speaking. Yeah I don't know how to break this to you but..."
"Jayne, this is something the Captain has to do for himself"

"N-No it's not!"

"Oh."

Oh noes! The PSP and the DS will become new weapons for terrorists!

Aw dammit, don't say things like that! Now they're going to be banned in the US....

Yeah. I can't tell you how many times I've been frustrated by the stewardesses restricting me from watching the TV and VCR I brought onto the plane.

I've got a DS, and I think its great.

I want to get a PSP eventually, but I'm glad its not going to be out until march, there are already various problems that need addressing;

plus I've heard that playing certain games on it gets about 90mins of play.

http://www.engadget.com/entry/1234000140023554/ <-- Does the PSP REALLY cost $500?!?! That's insane.

No, on its official release in NA it's gonna be ~250$ USD.

$250 is still a lot of money compared to the $150 of the DS.

"Today, a Sony Playstation Portable was used in a terrorist attack on flight 576 for AA. Apparantly, when attempting to access the plane's electronics system via wireless, the terrorist lost his footing, and the PSP flew across the cabin, into the pilot's room, and struck the main pilot in the head. Thankfull, the co-pilot was able to regain control of the plane after shooting the terrorist with a machine gun. Details to come!"

Wrong, the official Japanese price was $185. Since Japan has a higher living cost, the PSP will mostly likely cost less in the U.S.

Yeah, my mistake. It's estimated ~200$ USD. I did a little conversion to CAD in my mind :P
