I was talking to some people today about ghosts and I kinda got freaked out. i really don't know what to believe. I mean, it don't really make sense that there would be ghosts, but then again, I'm sure that it wouldn't make sense to a catapiller that there would be life after cocoon (if catapillers had concious thought). I just got done watching this little ghost flash animation thing at eBaums again, and it really makes you wonder.. http://www.ebaumsworld.com/ghosts.html
so what do u all think?

Interestingly, you didn't write 'they can't be fake - they're fake', you wrote 'they can't be fake - ghosts are stupid', making me believe you believe in them.

I think they're bs though.

Well, I for one think videos like that are pretty cool. I looked at it and continuously went 'wow, that's pretty freaky. How did that door slam shut? And that lady in the back seat, what's that all about?'. I think it's something inherent in all of us to be drawn into this, and even I who can look at things very rationally am sucked into it.

And even though my mind is constantly browsing through solid explanations of that stuff, even though I keep saying that it isn't real, my more basic instincts create a vision of an old house at night, in which voices can be heard, and they scream to me 'tenshu, get out NOW!'

Cool video Spiral.

If you look for something long enough and hard enough, you will find it, regardless of weather it exists or not.

Wow, you people just found these?

Go there, there's lots more.

These are kinda cool in the way of
"wow, how did that happen?"
I doubt ghosts exists, but there is some pretty freaky stuff that happens.

Depends exactly what you mean by "ghost" as to whether I believe it exists or not.

The ebaum video convinced me of little. Most pictures were left up to the imagination, and were quite blurry. Others were suspiciously clear, and looked fake. Heck, one ghost was wearing glasses, and apparently, ghost glasses reflect light from the camera flash, too. :p And cameras pick up light interference, too (especially older filmstrip-style cameras).

It's quite easy to fake pictures, and even video. And the whole voice thing wasn't exactly so surprising. Electromagnetic waves are zapping through the air all the time, and there will always be interference. I can probably record something on my computer and pick up "voices" if I amplify it enough. Heck, it happens all the time with my guitar. And if I listen long enough, I can tell that it's just a radio station being picked up by my guitar's pickup, or by a low-quality cable. Big deal.

And of course, with pitch-shifty technology, I could easily bump voice down to something below 300 Hz. Or above 3000Hz.

This didn't even take an hour to make, and I'm a total noob to photoshop editing (and it probably shows). In fact, this is my first actual attempt. But it makes my point.

[edit: It was so spiritual, in fact, that I didn't need to plug my guitar into anything.]

Nice one Sajn. Ghosts are creepy, I just said they were stupid because there was no "I'm not sure" option.
Sneaky sneaks. I'm actually a werewolf. Woof.

I suppose its scientifically impossible to disprove their existence... But no-one's ever proven it either.
