Gmail is overated

It's some motorcycle enthusiast website, but read the fine print:

3. We are the only site on the internet to offer for free 1 terabyte email accounts that includes 500 megabyte attachments with POP3. Your email account can store 40 million emails, games, videos, MP3s or pictures on our solar powered systems.

Setting up an account is free, and you don't have to go through that annoying invitation thing that Gmail has.

Enjoy.

Someone get an account and start uploading a terabyte of data. See how long it takes before their servers fill up :p

Your ISP better not have an upload limit on your account if you or anyone else is going to try that. :p

Well, the only downside is that is this is quite possibly the worst webmail I've ever seen.

ever.

Why would I sign up for that, who the hell needs a terabyte of data.

Gmail isn't all about the 1 gig, although that was the hook.
If all gmail had going for it was the gig of space, I'd still be using hotmail.
Gmails setup is awesomeness in a can.

Psh, if my ISP had an upload limit, I'd have dropped them a looooong time ago. If anyone remembers when I did the CoolMatty Hosting Service off my PC, my PC was under such bandwith slaughter that it wasn't uncommon for me to do 2GB+ of bandwith upload in one day. (Although it wasn't the theoretical max for my connection in one day, which is 4GB approximately, since my upload speed is 45kb/s.)

There is no way that is is economically possible or technically feasible to give everyone a terabyte of storage space. They are banking on the fact that nobody would ever use a terabyte of storage for e-mail (they might as well say that they give you a petabyte of storage).

I'm not even convinced that google has enough space to grant all gmail users one gigabyte of space.

No, they probably don't. But the point is, this guy probably doesn't have enough free space to hold 2 users with a full account. I'm sure Google can handle at least a few hundred people with max accounts, no problem.

It took me two years to fill up half of my Hotmail's 2.5 meg. And when I deleted all the worthless attachments people were sending, it went back down to 10%. And then they gave me 500 meg or some nonsense. Who needs that much space for e-mail?

like, i have sent large attachments with my g-mail account.... it seems like there holding all that attached stuff on line on there servers... it's odd. like, what if i was sending mp3's to people, then, at any time if i wanted to send that song to someone elce i could. from any computer. or i could just let someone elce accuess my g-mial account to download the file forthemselves. and the fact that all of of it is looked though and acessable to g-mail people doesent sit well with me.... basically, dont do illeagel things with it, cause people are watching.
Laughing at my spelling herts my feelings. Well laughing is fine actully, but posting about it is not.

What he said. And I'm an admin, so you have to listen.

And Elana, you make it seem like GMail staff is actively reading through e-mails, but that isn't the case at all. I don't know why everybody thinks that.

Yeah, if that was true, I'd be in serious trouble already... er... nothing..
