First Sin City Trailer

Sin City

I wasn't sure after watching it once, but after seeing it a couple more times and reading a little back story on the characters I have to say this movie looks sweet.

That's really strange because the trailer was just released yesterday.

Oh man... I wanna borrow it and then assassinate people and change history, or maybe just kidnap them. Yeah. I'd kidnap Jesus and see what happens, and if it was some crazy ****, I'd put him back. Word.

BOOYA!!! I knew I'd find it if I looked back enough pages. It's not the trailer, but it's close enough.
I can't think of anything to put here right now.

Bruce Willis isn't quite Clint Eastwood enough to play Hartigan. He just looks like Bruce Willis, but otherwise I'd say that they've got just the right looking cast. That Yellow ******* looks particularly good, as does Marv, and Benicio del Toro in his role. The contrast could be a shade darker though, even almost cell-shaded, in my opinion, since they're shooting it all in digital anyway. Rodriguez seems like the perfect fit for Frank Miller's style.

Here's hoping that the film is good enough to be successful enough to warrant a sequel with "Family Values" in it :)

Oh, and for those unfortunate enough to be unfamiliar with Frank Miller (might remember him from when he reinvented Batman with "The Dark Knight Returns", and "Batman Year One") or Sin City:

Yeah, he did the music for Kill Bill as a favor to Terrintino.

The film adaptation of three classic Sin City albums (Sin City, The Big Fat Kill, and That Yellow B*****d). Sin City is Frank Miller's dark film-noire-esque series of comics that are drawn in black and white (actually, they're drawn with white ink on black paper), except for certain colours used for dramatic effect (red lips, a red dress, the yellow ******* etc.)

A collection of stories concerning the characters who inhabit the fictional Basin City, a pretty scummy place where life is cheap. Each story tends to focus on a separate character, though there are recurring characters such as Marv (a seemingly indestructible presence of a killer with a heart of gold in the shape of a big muscular simpleton who hates misogynists) or Fat Man and Little Boy (two crooks who always end up in the wrong place at the wrong time and have surprisingly profound discussions). The hero usually ends up taking an incredible amount of punishment at some point or other.

Cue voice-over monologues, classic cars, lots of rain, cigarettes, booze, sex, violence, and ferocious gunplay. What's not to like?

I'm bad at describing things, so just look take a look at the two links I referred to earlier especially for the poor individuals who've missed out on Sin City.

Lots of style with a surprising amount of substance, great narrative, and a sizeable bodycount.

So the movie is going to be entirely black and white like "To Kill a Mocking Bird"? I also notice that Frodo is in it.....

Cloud, try more like Pleasantville. It's going to be black and white with color in certain schemes, that signify something metaphorically.

And no one has said "Congratulations THRAWN on finding it first."
I can't think of anything to put here right now.

I liked the ComicCon preview more in terms of content, but the trailer was great in terms of hyping me for the movie. 2005 will host some great films.

If you actually watched the trailer you would notice that it isn't.

...That's because you didn't find the trailer...

THRAWN is probably referring to the ComicCon five-minute preview. He was the first to post the ComicCon preview, you were the first to post the theatrical teaser trailer. Fair enough? :p
