I love our hard driving tests, it makes me feel slightly safer than I would feel in america.

Heh, you sure it's not the fact that we drive on the right side of the street?

congrats.
Can't wait till I can say the "same" (I'm in US, not UK). I tend to be a safer driver.

I tell you... cell phones have nearly resulted in accidents at least twice in my experience. This year (God knows why?!?) my mom and my neighbor decided to carpool instead of using the bus. Now I have to sit and pray that the neighbor is paying attention to the road and not the phone. One time, she was back a little ways in the turn lane and the light turned yellow. She was slowing down and I expected her to stop. It turned red. At least 1-2 seconds later she goes through the light and turns (left)! A big 18-wheeler is starting to accelerate as we turn! Fortunately he stopped. whew.
And her husband seems to like to drive (what at least seemed like) 45 in a school zone... with ONE HAND!! My God, I clung on to my seat for dear life my heart was pounding like crazy!

I don't think I've ever been more scared in my history of cars than at these two points.

This is one of the main reasons I want my license! I will never have to put up with this again!
May the mass times acceleration be with you.

My driving test was a joke...

I finished in UNDER 10 minutes.

Drove to a large intersection went straight through, then took a right then a left at another large intersection then reversed into a parking spot. Done. Didn't do a thing wrong, and to think I was nervous...

Get a crappy car first.

Then when you're older go for the more stylin' stuff.

Cuz you're going to crash soon. Nothing can stop it from happening.

All my friends got a driving ticket in the first week they got their licences.

But according to comedians the British don't know how to drive... I'm confused.

I passed on my first time, with only one markoff. (Cutting a corner to close, which I don't understand. If I didn't hit the curb or anything, how can it be cutting it close?!)

I was taught to try and stay 1m from the curb.

Grats - I wish I had my test sometime soon... Gotta wait till like March.

Darth Slaw - CBC did a study, and on average talking on cell phones impaired drivers as much if not more than the average illegally drunk driver.

Congratulations. Ironic that just today I almost killed a whole ton of people with my driving shenanigans. Ah, America, and youthful idiocy.

I passed my test the first time, and as of yet, have not crashed, have not been issued a ticket, and have not even been pulled over.

Good work on the test.

I failed my first test because of a yield sign. I dont even get why they had yield signs in that area. They should just be flat out stop signs. I couldnt even see around the corner until I was halfway into the intersection and then *brakeslam* would have T-boned me had he not been paying attention. *reverse* *let the other guy go by first* *fail*.
