Yeah, its another comic book movie (Hellblazer). I'm having mixed feelings towards it. On one hand, its another comic book movie and it looks like it could be good. On the other I'm trying to figure out what the hell it is, despite the fact I've seen the comics before.

Wow, this sounds quite similar to a story I'm currently writing! Looks amazing, either way.

Vegar that has to be the stupidest thing I've heard all day. Those are completely diffrent movies than this one therefore they will be diffrent... does Frank Oz have to put the Yoda doll on whenever he does a muppet show?

Hmmm... I'm not going to make any definate calls here. The cast looks promising enough. They should be able to make a nice stylish action flick, but I'm not too sure about that yet. The director is a first timer. He has never been involved in a movie before, and now he's got this (realatively) big project on his hands. Lets hope he pulls it off. I love to see a first timer make a good movie.

I also found out that he's a music video director that has directed videos for Will Smith, Britney Spears, and Aerosmith... Hmm... While I may not like the music of the first two, their videos tend to have a fairly stylish and nice look to them. Let's just hope he doesn't carry over too many tricks from his music video career to his movie career... that tends to hurt people in the case of guys like Michael Bay, and eventually helps guys like David Fincher... So who knows.

People need to learn...movies that look awesome in a special effects/action kind of way usually end up sucking.

While there is a vast list of movies to completely disprove what you're saying, Sajn, I'm going to have to say that occasionally you're right. But you've really got to consider more than that. Directors must be considered, as well as writers and such. As I said before, when it's something by a genius like Michael Bay or Stephen Sommers, it's probably going to suck, but if a guy like Ridley Scott directs it, it's going to be great.

There are many rules to help us decide whether a movie will suck or not, and while that does tend to occasionally give us a clue or two, it's really not the best method.
